Party Out the Box 42-2994617 | Government Grant Application

Party Out the Box | Application Preview

Party Out the Box is applying for government grants to support the expansion of its baking and catering services, which have become a significant revenue source for the business. They face little competition in their area and have a growing client list, but they are also nearing the end of their lease and may need to relocate. Their updated business plan focuses on enhancing the baking and catering offerings to attract more customers and compete with larger stores.

To facilitate growth, they plan to hire a store manager, acquire rental inventory (tables, chairs, linens), and purchase a delivery van with advertising. Furthermore, they are developing an e-commerce platform to reach a broader customer base.

The business emphasizes its commitment to providing quality products and services while creating job opportunities for various age groups. The owner, a disabled veteran, highlights the dedication and discipline gained from military service and assures that they are capable of succeeding.

In terms of competition, Party Out the Box distinguishes itself from larger retailers by offering specialized services such as balloon artistry and customized event setup. Their community-driven approach aims to foster positive relationships with customers, despite challenges like enforcing safety measures during the pandemic, which have sometimes alienated shoppers. Overall, the application seeks funding to solidify their position in the market and enhance their community contributions.

  • Funding Usage

We have just rewritten our business plan. In the plan we are seeking to great expand our baking and catering offerings. This revenue stream has become our second highest sales area behind balloons. We have little competition in our location and our baking client list continues to expand. We also want to begin renting tables and chairs, the challenge is the lack of space in our current location. We are also coming close to the end of our lease. We feel we need to be prepared to move based on the relationship with the current landlords.

  • Business Plan

We talked about the expanding of our baking and catering section, we feel that expanding and adding more selection will be the reason for our customers to choose us over driving an hour to the nearest baking goods store (Cake Art does approx. $65k plus a month). We need to add a store manager to run the day to day operations allowing us to focus more on the business. Adding rentals such as tables chair and linens. Purchasing a sizable van with advertising to expand our ability to deliver products and not rely on U-haul services. We are already working on our e-commerce store to expand our reach and availability to new customers. We are dedicated to our business, we provide excellent goods and services to our community. We are providing employment opportunities for our youth as well as older workers. I am a disabled veteran with all the dedication and discipline of my 14 year Army career, we can be trusted to stay the course and succeed.

  • Self Identified Competition

Party City is the number 1, Cake Art is number 2 then big box store like Walmart are number 3. With the big box they can't offer our balloon services nor the the custom service such as event setup, balloon art, or custom printing. We live and work in our community. While we are trying to make a living we want to make a positive contribution to our community. Right now we require masks while shopping in our store. A number of customers storm out shouting they will never shop us again. So we loose that revenue, however we are doing a good thing for the health and safety of our customers amid this COVID19 challenge.
