Makeup by Cassie Rae LLC | Application Preview
Makeup by Cassie Rae LLC is seeking government grants to fund the establishment of a bridal lounge aimed at meeting the rising demand in the wedding industry, particularly due to service provider shortages from pandemic-related rescheduling. The financing will support acquiring a storefront, furnishing it for services like makeup trials, and setting up distinct spaces, including a bridal suite and BNB. This project demands compliance with Pennsylvania state regulations for permanent makeup services, which requires specialized layouts and safety resources.
Cassie Rae envisions a five-year plan to grow her business into a comprehensive bridal beauty lounge that will not only offer a variety of esthetic services but will also provide accommodations for bridal parties. The space is designed to be used by other local businesses, such as photographers, for events or studio work, creating a broader bridal beauty experience. Additionally, she aspires to integrate an educational component for other estheticians.
With a background in an entrepreneurial family and recent experience in the bridal sector, Cassie is poised to take her career full-time after leaving her corporate job. She has seen rapid growth in her clientele and recognizes the current demand for personalized bridal experiences. Grant funding would allow her to enhance social media outreach, streamline administrative tasks, and focus on her services, thereby improving client interactions while elevating the overall bridal experience.
Cassie identifies her main competition as DevEsthetics and AMG Beauty Bar, which provide similar services. However, her competitive advantage lies in her personalized client approach and the unique concept of a holistic bridal lounge that integrates beauty services with exclusive bridal amenities. She aims to create an inclusive space where brides and related vendors can collaborate, making the overall wedding preparation more enjoyable and stress-free.

Funding Usage
I am looking to expand my business into a bridal lounge. In the past year, the wedding industry has become so lucrative and there is a shortage on service providers in this industry due to the backlog from Covid Brides rescheduling. This would fund getting a storefront and furnishing to provide a space for clients for everyday services, come in for makeup trials, and allow my subcontractors to work out of the space, a separate bridal suite and bridal BNB area . My permanent makeup services setup and equipment are under strict requirements and would need a certain room layout, bio hazard resources, ect. This would also fund my start up costs for all my back bar equipment all to stay aligned to the standards of PA state board of cosmetology. Funding a social media manager to strategize and reach brides all in the area is crucial and wants this person to be long term and part of the brand. Also using the funding for administration and management so I am not the one spending 10+ hours a week on communicating and coordinating with clients on top of providing services! I am so excited to bring this to life because my vision is needed, different, and never seen before.

Business Plan
In the next 5 years, I plan to have a bridal beauty lounge that incorporates all services I provide now, expanded with a team. In addition I plan to have a bridal suite and bridal BNB space curated for bridal parties to stay over the night before weddings and get ready for their big day with their vendors in the suburbs of Philadelphia. The space could also be utilized for other businesses to rent- for example local photographers as a studio space, or a location for small events. My business will encompass a whole bridal beauty experience. In addition, by then I want an educational element to my brand to help other estheticians grow their business. Coming from an entrepreneurial family, not only have I been working since 13, but I have been shown to do what you are passionate in life and success will follow with dedication. Since the pandemic I quit my corporate job to pursue esthetics and bridal makeup full time, which was very risky. There is more of a need NOW for women to look and feel their best for life and was very surprised how quickly I grew a clientele as I have been subcontracting at a future competitor and it is now time to go off on my own. Being in the bridal industry the past 5 year I have seen the pockets on how I can make brides and women look and feel their best, and how to tie all my passions together in a branded Bridal Lounge. With this funding, I can leverage outsourcing for social media for more exposure, administration so I can spend less time communicating with clients and more time on my services and bridal lounge aspects, and train estheticians thoroughly with the intention of changing the bridal experience. There is so much uncapped potential in the wedding industry!

Self Identified Competition
My first competitor is DevEsthetics, where I have been working for the past year, located in Norristown. AMG Beauty Bar is another competitor in Eagleville. Both offer permanent makeup, makeup, waxing, lash lifts, threading, spray tans. The Wink Lab just opened in Phoenixville offering lash extensions and lash lift and tints. After working under other estheticians, two of my competitors are known to speak to clients in a way that turn clients off. My personal client experience is number one which is why I have built a loyal clientele so quick. Another reason why they are different is that they offer the beauty services and makeup options, but there is nothing around that incorporates with a Bridal Lounge for an entire bridal experience. My vision encompasses all services needed for any even leading up to wedding and wedding prep, in addition makeup on the day. But it also includes exclusive bridal merch for parties to get ready in, robes, a digital bridal planner I am creating, and a separate space to utilize as a functionally designed bridal suite and BNB. My space brings local vendors together to work for brides to have a more collaborative space for their hair stylists, photographer, planner, designer, florist, etc. to all showcase and leverage the space. I have built close relationships with all kinds of vendors I have worked with which this would make a seamless stress free and luxurious experience all around for brides and bridal parties.
