  • Business Plan

Growing a small business isn’t easy. In today’s economy, prudence must be exercised to prevent financial difficulties and other unknown problems. Not in any specific order, I plan on accomplishing the listed business expansion during the next 5 years. -Develop a website not to miss out on potential clients by not being located on the internet. -Ramp up my marketing by asking my customers to get involved in the process and spread the word about what you do. Need to develop a marketing schedule, so to have a clear plan and specific goals for future marketing. Track the results, so you learn over time what works for promoting your company and what falls flat. -Use technology to reach out to potential customers. The advances in the ways computers think and process data means you can likely automate at least some of your marketing and promotional work as well as outreach to your customers. Invest in current technology, such as customer relationship management (CRM) software. -Improve Cash Flow. One of the biggest problems small businesses face as they start growing is cash flow. Need to invest in additional inventory or open that new location, I need to make sure you have several months’ expenses in the bank. I believe in investing- back into your business is smart, but having an emergency fund is smarter. - Getting out in the community. I have begun getting the word out about what you do and why you do it. I have made a personal contact with attorneys in two counties and have one more to go. Will get involved in your local chamber of commerce. I will be contacting each local business to make my presence feel locally and begin to draw in new customers. Once I gain more recognition, I will expand into the State of Missouri bring in more business. -The only competition that I have currently is only one business in Missouri and another fifty-miles away in Kansas. There is a need of my service in my local area and need to be discovered. -I understand that for my business to grow, I have to be very intentional about it. Creating annual goals for your company is important and need at least a list of two or three main goals, break them into strategic steps that will get my company from where we are to successfully reaching those targets. With a little planning, VGI will grow each year no matter what other factors influence my or the economy. Knowing that my company growth is up to myself to accomplish and no one else. I know what work is and not afraid to accomplish anything. My name is Darrell Lamme and the owner/CEO of Veteran Group Investigations. As my business name indicates, I will only employ experienced military veterans. Having over 40 years of experience working in law enforcement in various capacities from full time, part time and reserve officers. I have been a Police Chief in two organizations, investigator and sergeant. I am experienced investigating crimes from theft to homicides without supervision. I have 1 year experience prior as a private detective with Douglas Detective and Security Service in Colorado Springs, CO. I have the skill sets needed for owning and managing Veteran Group Investigations in Elwood, Kansas. I understand the work routine may be quite challenging and it’s impossible to remain productive without positivity. One of the things that distinguish me from other candidates is that I am able to remain calm and focused no matter how difficult the task. I always try to stay positive and find a way out. I am sure that everything happens for a reason and that any mistake can be fixed. I don’t think that there are many candidates who have such a deep understanding of the industry as I do. Yet, though I have been in the business for over 40 years and familiar every stage of the process, I learn every day to stay up to date and successfully manage teams to maximize Veteran Group Investigations efficiency and productivity. Having a strong work ethic, I don’t finish a case until I know that I have exhausted all possibilities to deliver the best service that I can. I have been told my many that I am a perfectionist at what I do. Integrity is essential in all that we do and is the 1st Core Value of the United States Air Force. I think that the main thing which distinguishes me from other candidates is the ability to find the right balance between applying that experience and listening to others. I value long-lasting work relationships and do my best to create a healthy and effective work environment. I am passionate about the industry and the people in it. As a disabled combat veteran, I maintain the skill sets needed to manage my own company. I appreciate the opportunity to apply for the grants.
