Miss Kelly’s Academy, inc 47-2096650 | Government Grant Application

Miss Kelly’s Academy, inc | Application Preview

Miss Kelly's Academy, Inc. is applying for government grants due to financial difficulties caused by state shutdowns and capacity restrictions. Currently operating at only half capacity, the school cannot afford to pay its teachers full salaries. Teachers are currently receiving partial pay and unemployment benefits, which will end soon, creating a potential crisis for their livelihoods and the school's financial stability.

The school is seeking funding to maintain payroll until it can fully reopen. They serve 30-49 families and emphasize the importance of personal connections within their small community. Their focus is on quality care and education rather than growth, believing that expanding would compromise their unique environment.

Miss Kelly's Academy has established a strong reputation through word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied families, having operated successfully for five years. The school believes that with financial assistance until the situation improves, it can continue to thrive and support its devoted clientele. Competing preschools include A Child’s Garden, Serendipity, and Peppermint Stick, but Miss Kelly's Academy prides itself on its small size, strong family relationships, and collaborative teaching approach, which sets it apart.

  • Funding Usage

We are struggling because of our states shut down. We are only allowed to open at half capacity and can’t pay the teacher’s salary with that. Right now, the teachers are on part time pay and part time UI. However, the federal UI runs out at the end of July. At that point the teachers won’t be making enough to support themselves, and the school won’t have enough income to pay them full time. If our state opens fully we can support our teachers (When the school is at full capacity) but the governor is saying our phase two is on hold and we may Close even further. We are asking for help so we may continue to stay open for our families who must be at work. We can’t stay open if we can’t pay our teachers a living wage. We are graciously asking for a grant to keep our payroll going through the end of the year until (hopefully) our state is open.

  • Business Plan

We are not planning on growing. We are all small community preschool serving 30-49 families at a time. Our schools purpose and size builds relationships with all the family members involved . We are all connected . If we were to grow in size we would lose what makes our school special. We have been loving, caring for, motivating and encouraging young children for the past five years. Our only advertisement is word of mouth from our student’s families who trust and love our ways. We only need help until the virus passes and we can open fully. The school sustains itself with our devoted clientele . Please visit our website or look us up on Facebook to learn what we offer and why our school matters.

  • Self Identified Competition

A Child’s Garden Serendipity Peppermint Stick I don’t know much about our competitors , only that these are other popular preschools in ABQ. We are small, connected, and in constant communication with the families, theme based, ran by an incredible groups of teachers who work together on each aspect of our school. Everyone in our school knows that they matter .
