Crooked Cactus Boutique | Application Preview
Crooked Cactus Boutique is seeking government grants to support its expansion efforts. The funding will be used to purchase additional inventory, marketing supplies, and shipping materials, which will significantly enhance the business's operations.
The business plan includes hiring a new employee dedicated to marketing, social media management, packing orders, and customer interactions. This would free up the owner to focus on inventory procurement and fostering relationships with other local small businesses.
The boutique's owner highlights the need for financial support due to their young age of 20 and limited financial background, making it challenging to compete with established local boutiques. Despite these challenges, they have achieved considerable growth and secured a storefront, demonstrating their commitment and hard work.
In terms of competition, the owner identifies rival boutiques in the same town. With additional resources from the grant, they can increase inventory and subsequently boost sales.
Crooked Cactus Boutique's competitive edge lies in its unique offerings. The owner is dedicated to sourcing distinctive and affordable items that are not widely available, blending a western aesthetic with a quaint small-town feel. This targeted approach enhances the boutique's appeal against its competitors.

Business Plan
I plan to grow my business by hiring another employee to run marketing and social media as well as packing orders and interacting with customers so that I can focus on ordering new inventory and bonding with other small businesses in the area. I believe that my boutique should be invested in because I am only 20 years old and have grown my business tremendously. I don't come from a lot of money so its hard for me to stay in competition with other boutiques in the area. I have worked so hard for this and I'm officially in my own storefront and I would love the opportunity to grow with you.
-
Self Identified Competition
My top competitors would be the boutiques in the same town as me. I could easily get more orders by being able to order more items and merchandise with this grant. My boutique is very unique. I strive to find vendors and wholesale accounts with items that no one around me has. I spend hours finding the perfect things that are unique and affordable all while being in style. I offer a western vibe with a small town vibe.
