Bliss & Sis Balloon Bar | Application Preview
Bliss & Sis Balloon Bar is seeking government funding to expand their successful party rental and balloon decoration business by building a dedicated shop and event venue in Lufkin, TX. Currently operating from a garage, the sisters have generated over $100,000 in revenue in their first year and continue to experience significant growth, recently earning over $22,000 in just one month.
The expansion aims to meet the growing demand for event space in their community, where no dedicated party venue currently exists. This effort not only aligns with their business goals but also honors their late grandmother, Lynette Roland, who was a trailblazer for women in business. By creating a venue and shop, they plan to empower themselves and other women, while providing a much-needed service for local residents hosting events.
In a market with limited competition, Bliss & Sis stands out by focusing on full-service event planning and rentals, unlike a nearby balloon business that operates as a hobby. Their unique position enhances their competitive edge, allowing them to create jobs and contribute to their community while fulfilling their vision of running a thriving business. The sisters are committed to making a positive impact and carrying on their grandmother's legacy of entrepreneurship.

We are ready to expand and build a shop and event venue in Lufkin TX. We work with schools, and decorate proms, and other corporate events, and we lack the space to throw parties and events like this. This would be a thriving business and allow us a space to work.

Business Plan
We made over $100,000 revenue in Balloon decor alone in our first year of business working out of our garage. We've expanded and have hundreds of party rentals, and inflatables, and made over $22,000 in January alone. We are so blessed, but space is getting tight. We are wanting to build a space to work, and a venue to work and host events in hopes to expand our clientele, and profit. In 2020 my sister and I lost our grandmother, Lynette Roland. Lynette was a single mother who worked her way through college with two small children, graduated and was the president of JO Cheatham Contractor INC. In 1964, and women being the president of a contraction business was rare. She build infrastructure, such as banks, schools, homes, and other businesses that are still standing and thriving today. She was the absolute definition of a GIRL BOSS. In her memory, my sister and I knew we had big plans to aspire to be like her, and run our own business. We took a leap and started our own business, of party rentals, balloons decor, and event stying. We build all our rentals by hand. Our business in the last year and a half has THRIVED. We live in a smaller community who had never seen a business like this. In our in our first year of business we made over $100,000. We poured every dollar back into the business towards expanding. We learned making profit, wasn't what we were striving towards....it was building this empire of ours. We love being our own boss. We love empowering women. We plan and decorate beautiful parties and corporate events. In the past two years, we've learned one problem holding us back from reaching our full potential....and thats space. We are both stay at home moms, and have run this business out of our garages. We can only imagine the things we could do with a shop to work in. We also learned, our area does not have any event venues. Mostly all of our customers struggle when finding a place to host their event. Our goal is to build a a venue with a shop on the back. We want to create a blank canvas for our clients, so we can run both businesses, and get to create a beautiful space and be a part of the happiest days of people's lives. Our grandmother was our biggest supporter. We know if she was here she would be so proud of us and help us build something, but we are on our own and strive to make her proud and carry on her legacy of being a true girl boss.

Self Identified Competition
There is one other balloon decor business in our town. They do it more as a hobby (still having full time jobs) they focus mainly on balloons, while we focus on the whole event & rentals. There are maybe 2 wedding venues here in town but are of course booked on weekends for weddings, and not available for small events, and much too expensive. There is NO party venue in our town, just civic centers, or dance studios people rent out on the weekends. We strive to once again be the first to offer something new in this town. We are actively working in the event industry FULL TIME. We live in a smaller town, and there is a demand for a party venue. We are ready to commit our time and energy to providing something our tired competitors have yet to think of. Our business will create jobs, and allow us to have a space work environment and be a small part of the happiest days of our customers lives.
