Meyer Books and Tax Services | Application Preview
Meyer Books and Tax Services is seeking government grants to enhance their business operations through various funding allocations. The requested funds will be used for advertising and marketing, continuing education, hiring additional employees, and updating their computer and printer equipment.
The business plan aims to boost marketing efforts, hire more staff for better networking, conduct regular financial and business meetings for effective management, provide superior client service, and expand office space to accommodate the entire team in one location.
The reason for granting the funding emphasizes the founders' commitment to helping others. They recognize the complexities of managing finances and want to ease the burden for their clients, allowing them to concentrate on their businesses. Their approach involves engaging with clients to clarify their financial situations and build better understanding.
In terms of competition, the founders note common frustrations clients face with other CPA firms, such as lack of communication and inadequate service. They differentiate themselves by offering personalized attention and reasonable pricing, countering the perception of being just a "small client."
Their competitive edge lies in their responsiveness, integrity, and pricing, as well as providing training on QuickBooks. Additionally, they support community causes and offer discounts to first responders, military personnel, teachers, and frontline workers, further fostering their mission of making a positive impact on clients and the community.

Business Plan
Invest more into advertising and marketing Hire an employee or two so I can network more. Regular financial meetings with the owners for financial status and budgeting. Regular business meetings with owners and employees to make sure everyone is on the same page and all clients are being managed properly. Continue to provide our clients with the attention and service they deserve to help spread the word. Increase our office space to have both owners and all employees in one building. My husband and I both care about helping others and we started our books and tax business with that in mind. We can appreciate the nature of the business can be overwhelming and confusing and owning a business entails so much more than people realize. We are here to alleviate some of that stress so they can focus on their business. We sit down with people and answer their questions regarding their finances. We help them understand what kind of story the numbers tell about their business. We believe in making a difference in the lives of others, whether big or small.

Self Identified Competition
I hear all the time that someone's CPA doesn't offer certain services or won't return their calls. Or, someone wants to charge a lot for very little. One client came from a CPA firm that treated him like he was a "small client". We've had people come to us saying they gave their documents and money to someone and they never heard another word from that bookkeeper or accountant. As mentioned previously, we hear over and over that "my CPA doesn't do that" or we see what the previous person has done with their books or taxes causing the client to have to spend more money to have everything corrected. We have very reasonable prices and we believe in honesty, integrity, and teaching our clients how the numbers show flow. We offer QuickBooks training for anyone interested. We also like to volunteer and raise money for different causes. We also offer a discount for first responders, military, teachers, and front line workers.
