Hooch Haus, LLC. none yet | Government Grant Application

Hooch Haus, LLC. | Application Preview

Hooch Haus, LLC is seeking government grants to help launch a new business focused on wine-based margaritas in Seguin, ideally in a historic downtown building. The funding will be utilized for necessary licensing, permits, equipment, supplies, and property costs.

The business plan involves starting with a single location and expanding to offer tequila-based drinks within the first year. Hooch Haus also aims to secure credentials for online orders through platforms like DoorDash and Uber Eats in the initial year. For sustainability, the business intends to set aside 35% of monthly profits in years two and three to facilitate further growth, including a second location in New Braunfels by year four and five.

The owner emphasizes the importance of revitalizing small towns, suggesting that many of them have unique cultural value that should be preserved. The business presents a profitable opportunity, especially in the current landscape where traditional bars face restrictions. Hooch Haus’ primary local competitor is Taco Cabana, though there are a few small drive-thru options within a 30-mile radius.

Hooch Haus distinguishes itself with a strategic downtown location, offering larger serving sizes for margaritas, and a commitment to local ownership, which aligns with current consumer preferences for supporting small businesses. Additionally, the company plans to implement environmentally friendly practices, utilizing biodegradable materials for packaging and exploring customer incentives for reducing waste.

  • Business Plan

I would like to start small with one location with only wine based margaritas. I am insisting on a building in Seguin that is close to downtown and an original building. Once established, I would like to then procure a liquor license to be able to have tequila based beverages. I would like to accomplish this within the first 12 months of being open. Also, withing the 1st year, I would like acquire the credentials to fulfill online orders such as DoorDash and Uber Eats. I would like to spend years 2 and 3 setting aside 35% of my monthly profit and continue to work on social networking platforms to increase sales. On year 4, I would like to used that saved money and open a 2nd location in the New Braunfels area, close to the original downtown in an older building as well. I would spend year 4 and 5 repeating the same steps for the first location. I believe many small towns are like a ring worm. They always grow out, leaving behind a down town with a lot of culture and history left to dry rot out and fall apart. I strongly believe as a community we should bring life back to down towns, revive those buildings, and have businesses that will attract people to the inner towns. That is why I want my location in Seguin to be an older building as close as possible to downtown. Another reason why it is a great idea to invest in my business is because it will be very profitable. With the pandemic and bars being closed, having a drive shop that you can get your margaritas and take home to enjoy, or be delivered to you is an easy option right now. With bars being closed, unless someone goes and buys all the stuff to make margaritas at the liquor store, there are not many other options for getting a mixed drink.

  • Self Identified Competition

In Seguin, my only competitor would be Taco Cabana, they now sell margaritas through the drive through. The only other competitors within a 30 miles radius is Off the Clock in NB and Roc N Ritas in NB as well. Both are also small locally owned drive through. Roc N Ritas has two locations now as well, the 2nd one being in San Antonio. 1.) Location- being close to downtown, I am easily accessible from all sides of town. In Seguin, the Taco Cabana is on the outskirts on the north east side of town, which makes it a bit of a drive if you don't live on that side of town. 2.)Portion size-Taco Cabana only sells their margaritas in a 12 oz cup. I would like to offer a 12 oz cup as well as a 24 oz cup. 3.) In Seguin, I would be a locally owned business. With the economy shifting due to the pandemic and the overall support for small business owners, I believe consumers would much rather place their money into a locally owned business rather than a fast food chain. 4.)Since I do believe in preserving what we, as a community have, along with our future, all of my cups and lids will be biodegradable and disposable corn plastic. Many people may not even notice this feature, however, the ones that do will definitely appreciate it. I am also thinking about offering a deal where if the customer brings back their cup for a refill and new lid, to offer a $1 off of their drink(still thinking about the details on this one)
