Behind the Bridal Veil 85-2630714 | Government Grant Application

Behind the Bridal Veil | Application Preview

Behind the Bridal Veil is seeking government grants to cover inventory expenses, including wedding gowns, office supplies, accessories, and shipping. The business has an ambitious five-year growth plan to showcase up to 300 updated gowns and accessories on its website, with regular weekly updates and aims to gain recognition in the wedding industry through seasonal shows.

The applicant's unique story sets them apart from other applicants. Born in Anchorage, Alaska, and having faced the challenges of foster care, they were motivated to defy statistics suggesting a bleak future. A setback at age 25, including a car accident while working as a Pre-K teacher assistant, led to a reevaluation of their life goals. This experience has inspired a drive to turn challenges into opportunities by pursuing their dream of business ownership.

The target audience includes women of all ages and backgrounds seeking affordable options to feel beautiful on their wedding day. In terms of competition, there is no bridal shop in Homer, and the nearest competitor is 75 miles away. While there are some options available through thrift stores and online marketplaces, none offer the unique service and quality that Behind the Bridal Veil provides.

The competitive edge lies in offering high-quality, cleaned, previously owned wedding gowns and accessories in various sizes and styles. The online boutique aims to deliver a personal touch, helping customers experience the special feeling of being a "princess for a day."

My plan on growing my business in the next 5 years, is to have up to 300 wedding gowns & accessories updated on my website and having update's posted ever week! Also being known in the wedding industry were i can have seasonal shows an sell my collection!!! What separates me from other applicants? Well, i am proud to say that i was born in Anchorage Alaska, but at an early age i was thrust into the harshness of foster care. At the tender age of four years old a case worker told me that statistically the out look for my future was not bright. This statement although hurtful, has been the fuel to push me to prove that i am not a statistic and that i can make mt future the best that it can be. At the age of 25 i experienced another set back. On the way home from work as a Pre-K teacher assistant i was rear end, which it totaling the car that i was driving plus causing some permit damage to my person. Now i am re-thinking my future again. At this point in my life i would love the opportunity an challenge to take that negative into turn it into a positive. Pursuing my dream of owning my own. Cater to women of all ages, back grounds that want to be beautiful on their wedding day but might have limited resources to make that dream come true
