Les Delices De La Boulangerie 20238455 | Government Grant Application

Les Delices De La Boulangerie | Application Preview

Les Delices De La Boulangerie, a woman-owned bakery in northern Minnesota, is applying for government grants to enhance their community by providing high-quality, freshly baked goods. The owner emphasizes a lack of local options for homemade bread and pastries, particularly sourdough and French treats made without preservatives or GMOs. With her passion for baking and a commitment to healthier food, she aims to offer affordable, fresh alternatives to store-bought products, which are often of low quality and high price.

The bakery caters to various dietary needs, providing dairy-free and gluten-free options, alongside traditional breads. The owner also highlights her dedication to serving the community, including delivering to elderly residents who may have difficulty accessing baked goods. She operates in conditions that can be challenging due to the region's harsh winters, yet remains committed to local and organic production.

The business plan focuses on serving local churches, community centers, and stores, with a strong emphasis on community engagement and quality. The owner believes that her unique skills and experience set her apart, as there is no direct competition in the area. With a wide range of handcrafted products, including traditional and gluten-free breads as well as pastries, Les Delices De La Boulangerie aims to fill a significant gap in the local market, providing residents with delicious and healthy baked goods. Funding approval would help solidify her mission to enhance the community's access to nutritious food options.

Since I live very far off at north, in northern Minnesota. There's no good home made baked goods around, locally there's no one who can present such level of homemade of freshly baked breads that are healthy with out use of preservatives and GMO. I am presenting a wide variety of level of sour dough breads, French pastry and puff dough for my community, churches and people who live around. Fresh sourdough bread is no where to be found and as a mother of five I know that food from store isn't the best choice. So I want my community to eat better and get a taste of fresh food which is made LOCALLY. With the prices in store going crazy high and products not being edible or good for use, people here can try the fresh breads and pastry that's affordable for everyone and is in best condition for consuming. This business is woman owned and is all handmade, homemade with addition to that, no one here would like to do such tough work. Since I bake everything in the night before the early morning to deliver the best fresh breads to people. No one around would like to trade their precious sleeping time for baking for someone they don't even know, but I love cooking and baking is my passion. I have menu with variety of baked breads and pastry even for people with allergies, I present dairy free pastry, and gluten free pastry and breads. Breads on rye or whole wheat, sourdough breads without yeast, the breads that are gluten free and many more. The amount of work and time I put in is just priceless. We try to deliver around town for those elder people who would like to try something but aren't able to walk, and we don't charge for logistics and transporting even though we live here and the northern region and it's almost unrealistic to get through the tough snows in winters even with a tractor. The closest WALMART and ALDI is 2 hours away from us. So that is why I am based here to be baking locally and organically for our community, so they wouldn't be limited in choices, so that they would have options to choose from our fresh baked breads and pastry. Which includes super simple ingredients, such as flour, water sourdough, salt. Or out sweets that include only real fruits as fillings or real berries with homemade creams, no icing of frosting added. And all this because I think that we deserve to have fresh natural bread in town.

  • Business Plan

Very well, by providing community and our local churches, community centers and stores with freshly made organic baked breads and pastry. There’s no competition since no body knows how to do the best breads. Because there is no compatibles and no competition around on such category. There are clients coming through the town from a far, including nearest towns or fishers that come from a far. There’s no such bakery that’s around that makes such products we make, which makes us unique, and the knowledge of bread and cooking I have is beyond what is presented here in local restaurants, because I’m a cook with experience.

  • Self Identified Competition

No one, there’s no one who does this. Like I said, everyone here up north loves bread, but’s it’s a difficult job so no one wants to do it, yet they all love to eat. Our product is unique and high quality which is proved by the sales and orders on items. Starting from sour dough breads, all the way to gluten free breads. French, Italian pastry, and everything is handmade.
