Stringtown Animal Hospital 20-1714753 | Government Grant Application

Stringtown Animal Hospital | Application Preview

Stringtown Animal Hospital is seeking government grants to fund the purchase of a CT Scanner (Xoran vTron machine) and the necessary upgrades to the hospital's electrical systems. The addition of this advanced equipment aims to enhance the hospital's diagnostic capabilities, positioning it as a leader in specialized veterinary care within the community.

The hospital's business plan emphasizes its commitment to providing superior surgical and diagnostic services compared to local competitors. By expanding its offerings to include a CT Scanner, Stringtown Animal Hospital expects to reduce wait times for pets in need of specialized care, addressing a growing demand in the emergency veterinary sector. The hospital has already seen success with referrals since introducing laparoscopic surgery in 2021, and adding the CT Scanner is anticipated to create an additional revenue stream.

The applicant, with 18 years of experience in managing and growing the hospital, has demonstrated significant development, increasing staff from three to over thirty and doubling the facility's size. This growth is fueled by a commitment to providing comprehensive resources for pet owners facing difficult situations with their pets' health. Stringtown's focus on individual patient risks and family needs fosters strong relationships and trust, allowing for better care recommendations.

In terms of competition, the hospital identifies three main local competitors: Conchord Animal Hospital, Brenlor Animal Hospital, and Banfield. While these facilities offer standard preventive and routine care, Stringtown distinguishes itself through advanced diagnostic and treatment services. Its strong relationships with competitors facilitate referrals, enabling the hospital to handle cases more quickly and effectively than specialty hospitals with similar resources.

  • Business Plan

Our hospital provides services to the community that are more advanced than other local facilities. We currently market our surgical and diagnostic abilities to local Veterinary hospitals that do not have such equipment or staff with knowledge to perform procedures. There has been a huge demand on the specialty and emergency Veterinary sector and this has resulted in prolonged wait times for pets and extended suffering. By adding a CT Scanner to our facility we will be able to provide yet another service that is not prominent at general practitioner Veterinary hospitals. We have been hugely successful with local hospitals referring patients to us since our addition of laparoscopic surgery in 2021. Having a CT Scanner will create yet another revenue stream from referral partners. I have successfully managed and grown Stringtown Animal Hospital for 18 years. During this time my team has expanded from three team members to over thirty and my hospital has been renovated to twice its original size. Prior to purchasing, I was a Relief Veterinarian servicing many veterinary hospitals in central Ohio. I witnessed a large amount of variety in these facilities and I have instituted the most successful approaches into my practice. I also noted many of the factors that were not successful. The primary of these being a lack of resources for pet parents, whether financial, physical, or emotional, that were required when diseases occurred and treatment was necessary. The foundation of Stringtown Animal Hospital was built upon overcoming this major obstacle. By focusing on the individual risks a patient has and the needs of the entire pet family, a pathway to healthier pets, happier clients, and affordable care is created. The personal approach we have with our pet families creates a bond that ensures trust when we make recommendations about pet care. It is for this reason that I am always striving to provide the best care and have the diagnostics, treatment equipment, and team available to support our pet families.

  • Self Identified Competition

Our top three competitors locally are Conchord Animal Hospital, Brenlor Animal Hospital, and Banfield. All three of these facilities provide comparable care for preventive and routine maintenance of pet health. However, we excel in our ability to diagnose and treat pets beyond the routine. Our on-site laboratory, ultrasound, digital and dental radiography, laparoscopic surgical equipment, ligassure cautery, and laser therapy units provide not only our pet families with outstanding local service, but also provide this to our entire local community via referral from these facilities. We have developed and maintained a supportive relationship with our top competitors. This allows them to confidently refer their patients that need services they can not provide to us. We are not only capable with our diagnostics and treatments, but can often receive patients in a much faster time frame than specialty hospitals with similar equipment.
