Horizon Athletic LLC 88-3524399 | Government Grant Application

Horizon Athletic LLC | Application Preview

Horizon Athletic LLC is seeking government grants to purchase fitness equipment for a personal training studio aimed at training youth athletes. With eight years of experience as a personal trainer and a strong local clientele of around 40 clients, the business aims to tap into a gap in the market for youth athletic training in the area. By offering group sessions, Horizon Athletic can train multiple youth athletes at once, allowing for higher earnings compared to traditional one-on-one adult training sessions.

The applicant highlights a strong community reputation and a decade of certification in personal training, emphasizing a commitment to fitness and wellness. Trust built over the years has led to relationships where community members frequently seek the applicant's expertise.

In terms of competition, the primary competitor is The Strength Lab in nearby Wilmington, known for its quality training for youth athletes. Other competitors include the local YMCA, which offers youth programs, and Court House Fitness, a gym with a long-standing presence in the area.

Horizon Athletic's competitive edge lies in its focus on the holistic development of youth, emphasizing character building alongside athletic performance. This approach separates it from competitors who may prioritize performance alone.

  • Business Plan

I have worked as a personal trainer in the community I live for 8 years. I worked for a local gym and grew a solid clientele base (~40 clients). The growth I expect is through training youth athletes in our area. There is no service like this, locally. This market allows me to charge more per client, and I can structure that basis into class format. So, what I could make for one (1) personal training session with one (1) adult client, I could train at minimum four (4) youth athletes in a group setting for a higher hourly rate. I have a strong commitment and healthy reputation within my community. Professionally, I have been certified as a personal trainer for 10 years, with a bulk of it serving out of the same gym for 8 years. Through that time, I have been able to run my practice as a sole-proprietor and steadily increase my income while simultaneously earning the trust of the community. This has created a lot of relationships in which many people come to me for my expertise, not only in fitness, but also in balanced wellness. Investors should invest in me because I am trusted and experienced in my field, with proven financial growth and stability.

  • Self Identified Competition

The top competitor is The Strength Lab in Wilmington, Ohio. This is a neighboring town to where I live (Washington Court House, OH), and a cross-county competitor. Many parents of local school districts take their kids to this location to provide them with committed physical training. This is a top-notch gym that gets high quality athletes coming their way. The second competitor would be our local YMCA. They do provide youth programs for athletes and programs that parents can enroll their kids in. The facility is has the most, and best, equipment in the area. The 3rd competitor would be a local gym I recently worked with, Court House Fitness. They do provide personal training. It has been a trusted business for over 25 years that has recently changed ownership. The club offers a lot of amenities that is highlighted by it's wide open gym floor. Horizon Athletic differentiates itself from its competitors because it is grounded in the intrinsic development of a child's character, as well as a focus in well-rounded health and movement. This is unique because each competitor is focus purely on the outcome of a person's performance as the highest possible result. HA puts an emphasis on performance, but with the backbone of developing good mentorship and exercise guidance.
