Jade Paints 88-2079763 | Government Grant Application

Jade Paints | Application Preview

Jade Paints is applying for government grants to enhance its beauty business, with plans to register as an LLC in Texas, invest in supplies from private label manufacturers, restock makeup kits for ongoing client services, and pursue further education at Ogle School for the necessary licensing to open a cosmetic store and makeup studio.

The business aims to challenge negative beauty standards by emphasizing inner beauty and wellness alongside outward appearance. Jade Paints intends to provide affordable and inclusive beauty products suitable for all skin tones, featuring a store where makeup artists can offer services, restock supplies, and teach new techniques. The business will also host makeup application courses and offer discounts to artists.

Jade Paints' founder draws inspiration from her personal background, having faced challenges as an African American single mother. With a commitment to building her business from scratch using her earnings, she emphasizes the importance of making people feel beautiful and has a vision for success in the multi-billion dollar cosmetics industry. The business prides itself on catering to everyday individuals and specializing in natural makeup and quality cosmetics.

In terms of competition, Jade Paints identifies brands like e.l.f. Cosmetics, which excels in affordability and accessibility, and Morphe Cosmetics, which targets artists with trendy offerings. The founder also admires Juvia's Place for its inclusive shade range and inspiring ownership story.

Jade Paints' competitive edge lies in its foundation by a makeup artist who understands both customer and professional needs. The plan includes hiring makeup artists to serve clients in-store, conduct live demonstrations, and offer classes, all while providing quality products at affordable prices.

  • Funding Usage

I plan to register my llc with the state of Texas. I also plan to invest in supplies from a private label manufacturing company to launch a cosmetic line. In addition to this, I plan to replenish my makeup kit to continue servicing current clientele. Lastly, I plan to continue education at Ogle School so that I can obtain the necessary licensing to open a cosmetic store/makeup studio.

  • Business Plan

I envision a beauty business that defies negative beauty standards; Making inner beauty and wellness just as important as the outward appearance. Jade Paints will offer affordable beauty products for every shade. Completely inclusive. I envision a cosmetics store employed by makeup artists where clients/customers can book services in store and where makeup artists can come to restock their kit and learn new techniques. I want to offer make up application courses, exclusive discounts for artists, and a beauty experience for customers! I’ve built and launched a business from nothing. My mother worked as a nurse until she passed away at the young age of 42. My father is a retired custodian supervisor. My parents had dreams of other endeavors but had to press pause to ensure my siblings and I had bright futures. As an African American woman, who launched this business as a working single-mother, I have something to prove to myself and my two little girls. This is a dream of mine but it’s also a calling. Making people feel beautiful brings me joy! I take pride in the fact that I’ve been working day jobs since I was a teenager and continue to do so while running a business full-time. My business has been 100% funded from wages earned. I’ve taken notes and am always educating myself along the way on how to efficiently run my business and improve my craft. Jade Paints will be a successful, lucrative business in a multi-billion dollar industry because it just works. We cater to the everyday individual. I specialize in natural-looking makeup and eventually in natural, quality cosmetics.

  • Self Identified Competition

e.l.f. Cosmetics is a successful brand that I’ve used for years. However, I’ve watched their growth. What makes them successful? Affordability. Elf products are branded in areas where “everyday” folks shop: Walmart, Target, etc. but they’re also online retailers. However, elf caters to a younger market. Morphe Cosmetics modeled themselves after MAC Cosmetics as far as packaging and overall aesthetic. (Sales consultants who can do light applications, cosmetics for sale) Morphe is trendy, catering to artists. Juvia’s Place is owned by a woman of color. Her story is extremely inspiring to me. Juvia’s is affordable and offers a wide range of shades catering to nearly every shade. Jade Paints was founded by a makeup artist and caters to customers and professionals alike. Like Morphe, I envision offering quality cosmetics (that are also affordable like Elf and Juvia’s Place) but I’ll employ makeup artists who can build their own clientele by doing full-face applications in-store and offering live demonstrations (using Jade Paints cosmetic products of course) and courses.
