Morris' Professional Business Services | Application Preview
Morris' Professional Business Services is seeking government grants to transition from a home-based operation to a physical storefront. The owner believes that having a dedicated space will enable them to serve more clients effectively, especially in light of ongoing COVID-19 challenges such as social distancing.
The business plan aims for growth over the next five years through networking, word-of-mouth referrals, participation in trade events, and advertising efforts. A mobile app will continue to be an essential tool for tax services.
Morris' approach to funding is driven by a commitment to innovation and resilience. After experiencing setbacks during the pandemic, particularly in peak tax season, the owner diversified by creating hand sanitizers and household cleaners, generating over $500 in sales. Additionally, there are plans to launch tutoring services to support working parents.
In terms of competition, Morris' acknowledges established companies like H & R Block and Jackson Hewitt. However, they emphasize a commitment to affordability and building strong relationships with clients, positioning themselves as a trustworthy alternative to traditional services. The competitive edge lies in the dedication to treating client information with utmost care, alongside providing affordable and honest services.

Funding Usage
I desperately need to expand from being a home-based business to owning/leasing a physical storefront. I can continue to provide affordable business services to more clients in my own building than I can from home especially with COVID-19, social distancing, and quarantine on and off again.

Business Plan
I've grown and plan to continue growing my business in the next five years through networking, word of mouth, trade & expo events, and advertising. I plan to continue utilizing my mobile app for tax purposes. There is no limitations with me. I'm not afraid to step out on faith and try something new or advance at what I already know. I am full of great business ideas, I just don't know who to turn to and trust with so many scams going on. I'm like the average person looking for their next big break; I just need someone to believe in me as well. When COVID-19 surfaced, my main small business suffered and during peak tax season so I didn't make my quota. So, I started a new business making my own signature hand sanitizers and household cleaners when the stores starting running out. Now, I have created more products, built my website, and made over $500 in sales so far. That's not good enough for me. To help out the parents that still have to work whether their child is online or in-person, I've decided to start my own tutoring services in September. It's neverending with me.

Self Identified Competition
For tax services, H & R Block, Jackson Hewitt, and Liberty Tax. I've worked for one of these companies in the past so I knew my way around the tax industry. What I did learn is that the costs of these services are sometimes overpriced and ridiculous. I'm not in the business to extort anyone, so all of my business services are affordable and have been since I first started. I have relationships with my customers because they're aware of the other services that I provide. My competitors are not really competitors to me. I just want to compete in the industry as well but with myself. I am affordable, honest, trustworthy, and I treat my client's personal information as if it was my own children's birth certificates and social security cards. I don't cut any corners to make a dollar.
