Rocket Academy Governance Council Inc. 88-2420294 | Government Grant Application

Rocket Academy Governance Council Inc. | Application Preview

Rocket Academy Governance Council Inc. is seeking government grant funding to renovate a new facility for their technical education charter school. This school aims to serve juniors and seniors in high school, enabling them to earn college credits through a partnership with a local technical college. Initially, the program will focus on CNC and welding, with plans to expand into HVAC technology, industrial maintenance, and industrial engineering.

The council highlights the need for funding as their existing state charter school grant cannot be utilized for facility renovations. The initiative is particularly important due to a local manufacturing sector facing workforce shortages. By providing students with early access to careers, the program offers a pathway to obtain a technical diploma or certificate two years before graduation.

Currently, there are no similar charter schools in Wisconsin, giving this program a unique position. While other programs allow high school students to earn college credit, Rocket Academy's approach enables students to pursue an actual college degree or certificate while still in high school, enhancing its competitive advantage.

  • Business Plan

We are starting a charter school for juniors and seniors in high school who will be earning college credit from our local technical college. We will start with a CNC and welding program and expand to include HVAC tech, industrial maintenance, and industrial engineering. We have earned a state charter school grant but we cannot use those funds for purchasing or renovating a facility. We have a lot of manufacturing in our area and they are struggling to fill positions. Our program get students started in their careers two years early with cost of a technical diploma or certificate.

  • Self Identified Competition

There are no other charter schools what we are trying to develop in WI. There are other programs where high school students can earn college credit but this program will allow students to earn a college level degree or certificate while in HS.
