Joes powersport restoration L21000150896 | Government Grant Application

Joes powersport restoration | Application Preview

Joes Powersport Restoration is applying for government grants to address the pressing need for improved facilities. The current shop is inadequate, lacking the necessary equipment and safety features. The plan is to build a modest metal structure that includes office space, proper electrical setups, and a car lift, which will lead to faster service and increased profits.

The business aims to expand by hiring 1-2 skilled employees, as the owner currently handles all tasks alone due to the expertise required. Until now, the business has relied solely on word-of-mouth referrals, with no advertising, as demand has exceeded supply. A focus on pre-1965 Jeep restoration and sales is envisioned, along with streamlined engine and transmission swaps to support growth.

Funding approval is sought because the owner is passionate about the work, and the support from the community has encouraged growth. The business distinguishes itself by accepting complex jobs that other shops often refuse, fostering strong customer relationships built on personal attention and trust. Unlike competitors, the personal touch and genuine care for clients' needs have established a loyal customer base, making the owner an approachable figure in the community.

  • Funding Usage

My personal shop is falling apart, and was never properly equipped for my work. I’m gonna have a modest metal building built, with some office space, proper electrical, and car lift.

  • Business Plan

As mentioned, I’ve got to improve my facilities for faster turnaround, and increased profits. I would like to hire 1-2 employees, but haven’t because the work I do requires skilled labor, and I need a place that’s safe for the public to visit. Up to this point, I haven’t done any advertising, because I have more than I can do alone, just by word of mouth. Ideally I would work towards specializing in pre 65 jeep restoration and sales. But if I could decrease turnaround on engine/trans swaps, I don’t see anything stopping me from growing exponentially I started this journey initially to do what I love, and make enough money to keep the lights on. But as time progresses, the people I help, and friends and family, keep telling me I should grow. People track me down, because I take on the jobs most shops turn away. Whether it’s do to complexity or difficulty obtaining spare parts. I end up making friends out of most of my customers, and It’s the personal attention, that everyone enjoys. I don’t treat people like income, but a friend who needs some help with a problem.

  • Self Identified Competition

I can’t really think of any competition in this area for my particular services. As previously stated, I take on the jobs that most shops turn away. Personal touch. I treat people as if they were family, with a problem I can help them out with. It’s the only advertisement I’ve had, and getting covered up with work. People come to see me, not my business.
