Sagarian Enterprises LLC 861624380 | Government Grant Application

Sagarian Enterprises LLC | Application Preview

Sagarian Enterprises LLC is applying for government grants to expand its ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy services for children with autism. The founder's passion for helping others began nearly a decade ago, highlighted by a transformative experience with a non-verbal client who spoke for the first time. After gaining a master's degree and BCBA certification, she became disillusioned with corporate practices in the ABA industry, leading her to establish her own clinic about 1.5 years ago.

Currently, Sagarian Enterprises serves 20 clients but has a long waiting list due to staffing and space limitations. The founder faces challenges from larger corporate competitors that drive down therapist pay, limiting her ability to hire quality staff. Additionally, the small clinic location restricts the number of clients she can accommodate.

The requested grant funding would enable the company to expand in several key areas: hiring more qualified therapists, opening additional locations to serve more clients, providing essential therapy materials and equipment, and facilitating the inclusion of various healthcare providers—such as speech and occupational therapists—to deliver comprehensive treatment. This expansion aims to reduce the lengthy waiting times for autism services in the area and better support families in need.

Sagarian Enterprises distinguishes itself from competitors like Elemy ABA and Hedgehog Health by offering a wider age range of services (ages 2-18), including early intervention, school readiness, and career readiness programs, as well as a mock café for practical social skills training. The founder emphasizes a commitment to quality care and intends to prioritize the well-being of clients over profit, as evidenced by her initial decision to forgo a paycheck to ensure the company's success.

  • Funding Usage

I am motivated every day with a drive to help people. I fell in love with the field of ABA almost 10 years ago. My first client was a non-verbal 5 year old, with minimal developmental skills. As this client’s therapist, I helped him speak for the first time. I was there when his parents cried for the first time hearing him talk and they hug me. I knew then that I was in the most amazing career. That motivated me to go get my master’s degree and BCBA certification. Working as a BCBA supervisor, I found out real quick how corrupt some corporate ABA companies are with insurance billing fraud and just making clients a dollar sign and losing the quality of treatment. I absolutely hated this. I sat down with my parents and pitched them my company business proposal. They both agreed to help me start my own company and take a HUGE risk. My company has been open for about 1.5 years now. We serve 20 clients. The opportunities that I have right now are that I have so many clients on my waiting list but not enough staff or location to help serve more people. The challenges that I face are the big corporate ABA companies flooding the therapist hourly rates, which is making it difficult for me to hire staff at lower rates because I can’t afford to pay them the corporate ABA rates. My location also is small and can only fit so many clients in at one time. We also have one bathroom. I’d love to be able to buy or rent a bigger space, but post covid commercial prices are extremely high and would make my overhead even higher. The grant money requested would help my company in so many ways. I am a female business owner with my own ABA Therapy Clinic serving children with Autism. We provide one on one therapy with individuals from 2 years old to 18 years old. We teach developmental skills, communication skills, social skills, behavior management, and parent education. I am struggling currently trying to stay competitive with the new big corporate style ABA Therapy Companies who only see kids with autism as dollar signs. This is why I left corporate ABA to start my own company, which is run by clinicians with a true focus on each child's best treatment. I would use the grant money for the following areas to help my company expand: -ability to hire more qualified therapists and behavior analysts allowing us to take more kids off our waiting list -ability to expand services to multiple locations to help serve children in need -ability to provide each therapy center and client cases with the learning materials, reinforcers, and therapy equipment needed -I would love to be able to expand enough to also add other types of providers such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and clinical psychologists so that each child can receive well rounded treatment

  • Business Plan

I would love to be able to expand enough to also add other types of providers such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, food therapy, and clinical psychologists so that each child can receive well rounded treatment. I would also love to have a second or third location to help serve more people in our community. I believe that my true intentions for this grant request is truly for the autism population that I serve. In my location, the waiting list for a child to receive autism services is about 6 months to a year. Allowing me the opportunity to help grow my company would allow so many children with development disabilities to receive the necessary services that need as well as help family who are struggling to manage. I love this field and these kids so much my true goal is to better people's lives. For the first year of starting my company I didn't even take a paycheck. I wanted the company to succeed and I wanted these kids to have a place to go that I knew had the best intentions.

  • Self Identified Competition

Top competitors: Elemy ABA, Hedgehog Health, InBloom Autism Services, and Behavior Analysis Support Services (BASS) I wanted to start my own company that served a wider variety of client age ranges. We served ages 2-18 years old. A lot of our field only serves 2-6 year olds, which is sad because that means so many individuals lose out on services especially if they received their diagnosis of autism later in age. I also wanted to create three sub types of services: early intervention for 2-5 year olds, school readiness program for 6-13 years old, and a career readiness program for 14+. I created a mock cafe where my older clients could learn social skills needed within a more natural environment. For example, the could practice shift management, appropriate workplace conversations, workplace safety, following a schedule, role playing a job interview, and practicing cooking skills. We also offer parent training and education to help support each client’s family as a whole.
