Carolina Cleaning Company and Management Services | Application Preview
Carolina Cleaning Company and Management Services is seeking government grant funding to grow its business. The funds will be used to enhance operations through better scheduling software, QuickBooks for financial management, and essentials for startup, such as supplies and potentially office space.
The business aims to expand by hiring employees, increasing its client base with more homes, and offering additional management services in the Outer Banks. Over the past five years, the owner has successfully built a small cleaning company recognized for hard work and dedication.
Despite competition primarily from real estate offices and a few small cleaning businesses offering basic services, Carolina Cleaning stands out for its reputation and quality work. The owner prides themselves on building strong personal relationships with clients, which fosters trust and comfort. They plan to maintain this personal touch even as the business grows, which sets them apart from larger companies that may lack that personal connection. The goal is to create a company that not only meets high cleaning standards but also treats clients and their homes with care and respect.

Funding Usage
I would use the grant money to build into a larger company. I would like to be able to do scheduling on a laptop and have QuickBooks and do most of my own tax prep work and payroll. I worked for a larger cleaning company that had 93 employees and know the property way it should all be done. I also need startup help with supplies and (potentially) an office space.

Business Plan
I would grow my business by hiring employees, picking up more houses, and expanding my services into other areas of the Outer Banks. I would be picking up more homes and branching out from just cleaning into management services for homes. Over the last five years I have built a very small but successful company by myself. My clients told me that I am one of the hardest working people they know. I will take that and apply it to the company I am building now and make it bigger and better than what I have built over the last five years.

Self Identified Competition
Competitors that I have here on the beach or mostly real estate offices and a couple of small cleaning companies. The services they offer are mostly just general cleans and quick hasty work. My company is known to be one of the best cleaning companies on the beach and I am the only one that works at right now. I would like the opportunity to see if I can make it bigger and better than what it is. Being that I am the only one that runs my company I do all of my own scheduling and have a personal relationship with most of my clients. My clients are all extremely comfortable with me and the work that I do. They all know me I know that I am a hard worker. A lot of times with bigger companies you don’t get that personal feeling. It’s a feeling like having a stranger in your home. I will still continue to go meet each new client and view their home. I would expect my employees to want the same things of Carolina Cleaning that I do. I’d want a thorough cleaning done, while showing kindness and respect to not only the client, but the home. That kind of courtesy is hard to find when it comes to the bigger companies on the beach.
