Tidewater Soo Bahk Do Martial Arts Inc. | Application Preview
Tidewater Soo Bahk Do Martial Arts Inc. is applying for government grants to support their community outreach initiative known as Hampton Roads Health & Well-Being. The program aims to enhance socialization, confidence, discipline, health, and community engagement.
The outreach program has two primary components: a re-entry program in collaboration with Hampton Probation & Parole, which provides free access for committed candidates, and an at-risk youth program designed to support disadvantaged young people. This program offers positive activities focused on mental and physical health, creating a stable environment and reducing the time youth spend in potentially harmful situations.
Tidewater Soo Bahk Do has received encouraging feedback from the families of participants in the at-risk program, noting improvements in respect, discipline, and emotional well-being. As there are no other similar programs in Hampton, Virginia, this initiative stands out and presents a unique opportunity for collaboration with the community and local government.
The organization’s growth strategy combines effective marketing with community outreach efforts. It highlights the distinctive nature of their re-entry program, noting that while there are other at-risk initiatives available, they are the only ones focused on re-entry services in the area. This uniqueness positions them to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the Hampton community, justifying the request for funding approval.
