Venture Equine N/a | Government Grant Application

Venture Equine | Application Preview

Venture Equine is seeking government grants to enhance its horse boarding and training facility. The funding will be used to establish dedicated pastures for horses, with plans to construct additional pastures using durable materials. Each pasture will feature shelters to protect the horses from adverse weather, and a new barn will be built for hay and equipment storage, ensuring that resources remain dry and accessible.

Currently, the business accommodates nine boarding horses, one training horse, and two lesson students. Over the next five years, the goal is to increase capacity to 15 boarders along with four personal horses, while maintaining a consistent training schedule and offering five lessons weekly. Emphasizing a personal touch, the owner plans to keep the number of boarders limited to ensure individualized care.

The business owner advocates for funding by expressing a deep passion for horses and a commitment to educating others about them. As a single mother, she aspires to create a nurturing environment where her children can learn responsibility through animal care. She aims to serve as an example of hard work and dedication.

In terms of competition, Venture Equine faces nearby facilities like Rolling Acres, which lacks training services and an indoor arena, and Loudon Farms, which operates with a high volume of horses and employees, potentially limiting individual care and increasing injury risks. The owner believes her approach of providing spacious pastures and personalized attention gives her a competitive advantage.

With extensive experience working with horses across various settings, the owner is committed to continuous education and improvement in her field. Her determination and resilience are underscored as she expresses a strong resolve to succeed and provide a quality environment for both horses and riders.

This will allow my hay to always stay nice and dry and molt free and my arena to be open and safe for all horses and riders

  • Business Plan

I currently have 9 boarding horses, 1 training horse, and 2 lesson girls. In the next 5 years I would like to have the facility to hold 15 boarder horses plus my own 4 horses. Continue to have a training horse in every months and have a steady 5 lessons a week. I do not want more then 15 boarder horses because I want to be able to keep everything in a personal level and provides one on one care for every horse and their individual needs. Investors should invest in me because I am willing to do whatever it takes to make my dream come true. Horses are a passion and if I can educate others and spread my love for horses to others that is all I ask for. I also am a single mom bound and determined to give my 2 little kids the life I have always dreamed of. I want them to grow up on a farm where they can play and get dirty but also learn the lesson of taking care of others (animals) before themselves. I want to be a first hand example of hard works pays off for my children.

  • Self Identified Competition

My top 3 competitors are rolling acres. A horse boarding facility near by. As far as I know they do not offer training and do not have an indoor arena like I do. I want to use the size of my property to my advantage and give all the horses large green pastures to have lots of room to run and play and be a real horse. There is also loudon farms in Galesburg Michigan. They have a large number of boarders and so offer training. I’m my opinion they have to many horses and employees that do not have the experience and the one on one care is not there. They run there horses in large groups and there are a large number of horse injuries because of that. I want to have a safer setting and more individual care. I am different because I have worked with horses my entire life. I moved to New Mexico to college rodeo, I traveled the western United States working for a pro rodeo athlete, I worked on race horse farms in Australia, I lived and worked on a breeding farm in Oklahoma, and I am currently in my 5th year working at Beadle lake vet clinic where I assist dr Emery. Dr Emery specializes in performance horses. I have and will continue to educate myself to be the best horse woman I can be. I attend clinics regularly and am very open minded to new ideas and new ways. I want to be the best in my profession and am willing to put the hours into always improving myself. I am one of the most determined and gritty girls that you will ever meet. Giving up is not an option.
