Youth Missions N/A | Government Grant Application

Youth Missions | Application Preview

Youth Missions is seeking government grants to establish an online business focused on creating and selling candles, soaps, and bath bombs aimed at the working community. The funding will cover essential supplies, website development, permits, insurance, and other variable expenses.

The business plan emphasizes starting small with the potential for future expansion into a physical store. The target market includes individuals who seek natural relaxation methods, particularly aromatherapy products that relieve stress and physical discomfort related to labor-intensive jobs.

The reason for approving the funding is rooted in the founder's personal experience with chronic pain from years of work in a demanding healthcare role. There is a perceived gap in the market for products that go beyond aesthetics and fruity scents to provide genuine relief for those in physically taxing professions. The founder believes that her products can help working individuals maintain their well-being, allowing them to balance work and personal life more effectively.

In terms of competition, the application recognizes the presence of other small businesses and larger brands like Bath & Body Works. However, the competitive edge lies in the focus on natural, environmentally friendly products specifically designed for self-care, rather than just appealing to visual and olfactory attraction.

Overall, Youth Missions aims to offer products that promote self-care and relief from daily stress and pain, filling a niche that is currently underserved in the market.

  • Business Plan

Starting off small and see where it goes then possibly open a store later on down the road. Target the working community with all natural relaxing methods such as aromatherapy candles, soaps that target relaxation and bath bombs that target aches and pains and relaxation as well. Well I haven't really seen a market for these types of candles, soaps, and bathbombs. Most are bout the effects of "look at me" with pretty colors and fruity smells. Although mine to will be that as well it will target the work force more than the everyday agenda. By helping with some of the aches and pain we have been subcome to everyday due to the labor of the work and strain it puts on our bodies. Over years of hard strenuous labor and not being able to get complete relief from the pain. These products will give people that relief to relax and not have as much pain or stress of hard work. We don't get any younger! For example I've been a CNA for 16 years and I have been wanting to retire that hat, because I wake up daily with chronic back pain and nothing helps. I have to take over the counter meds like candy just to take the edge off from the pain. I feel if I keep doing said career I will be crippled by the age of 45. I am a single mom who can not afford to be disabled with small children. One reason for trying a different avenue before it's to late. The aromatherapy candles relaxes your environment so that the pain/stress ain't the main focus, we can focus on other things in life. The soaps for shower/bath time to relax the body or take care of acne hot water does wonders for chronic pain, and acne, knowing first hand, as well as the bath bombs for soaking achy muscles and bones. I'm sure we could all benefit from these in some way being in the working force, because being on ur feet for 8, 10, 12 hours isn't ideal for anyone! So to be able to soak in a bath with calming soaps/bathbombs and stress/pain reducers if only for a slight relief is worth it daily to take care of ones self. I honestly don't know if I wouldn't already be crippled if it wasn't for soaking in hot water baths just to relax sore achy muscles and bones with no natural aromatherapies to help sooth the aches! Thanks for the Time it took to read this. Miranda Mckenna

  • Self Identified Competition

There's all kinds of markets for these kind of candles, soaps, and bathbombs out there. If I have to pick 3 them would b: Other small online stores that forcus on the candles, bathbombs, and soaps. Bath and body works/ bed bath and byond- they make the most smell good candles known to man kind in my opinion. Candles mite deem a bit difficult in the smell good effect but I'm willing to go threw trials of error to make it the best! Health stores that target aromatherapies of all kinds but lack in something possibly. It's not for the gilts and glam of the product so anyone buys them. It's a targeted market most Americans work yes but it's all natural environmentally friendly targeted for self care. We all neglect ourselves when it comes to self care. So if just soaking in the bath or relaxing with a couple candles to reduces pain or stress then I think my products were successful. That's y they are set apart from whats out there in today's market!
