RDN Nutrition Counseling | Application Preview
RDN Nutrition Counseling is seeking government grants to fund the hiring of new receptionists and to expand into a new office location. The business plan includes bringing on additional dietitians and launching advertising initiatives, as well as establishing partnerships with doctors throughout New Jersey.
The rationale for funding approval is based on the steady revenue generated through medical insurance, combined with the consistent demand for registered dietitian nutritionists, particularly concerning medical issues like obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. The mission aligns with promoting healthier lifestyles in New Jersey.
RDN Nutrition Counseling faces competition from various privately-owned practices across the state. However, they boast a capable staff that allows them to accommodate more patients. Notably, many competitors do not focus on underserved populations, whereas RDN Nutrition Counseling is committed to serving lower-income communities, with three Spanish-speaking dietitians on staff.
Their competitive edge lies in their willingness to accept Medicaid patients, which many dietitians tend to avoid due to lower reimbursement rates. This inclusive approach positions RDN Nutrition Counseling as a vital resource in the community.

Self Identified Competition
There are plenty of private owned practices in new jersey that are registered dietitians however we have the staff and are able to see more patients. Many of these privately owned practices do not serve underserve populations; we have 3 spanish speaking dietitians and see patients from lower income communities such as paterson passaic and clifton. We do not mind seeing medicaid patients; a lot of dietitians only want to see commercial medical insurances as they tend to pay more.
