Muddy Buddies Junk Hauling & Moving | Application Preview
Muddy Buddies Junk Hauling & Moving is applying for a government grant of $25,000 to enhance its operations and marketing efforts. Currently, the business has not received any loans or grants, and the funds will primarily be allocated to pay off a $9,000 debt on their trailer. The remainder will be directed towards marketing initiatives, including improved branding through trailer and truck wraps and creating promotional materials such as mugs, pens, and banners.
The business owner has started building a strong network, generating $500,000 in referrals last year, and plans to attend more events to further establish connections. They are also taking part in small business training programs at UTSA and aim to collaborate with FEMA to provide essential cleanup and moving services for families affected by natural disasters.
Since its inception in December 2021, Muddy Buddies has grown from a modest junk removal operation to a more established business. The owner made significant personal sacrifices to launch the venture, including leaving a stable job and selling personal assets. Despite these efforts, high operational costs driven by fuel and material prices have led the owner and his family to consider renting out their home for added financial relief.
The company's competitive edge lies in its personalized service, including discounts for first responders and veterans, and its straightforward pricing approach. Unlike larger competitors, Muddy Buddies prides itself on transparency and affordability, providing families with reliable services without hidden fees. The owner is committed to growing the business and believes that, with additional funding, they can significantly increase their market reach and impact.

Funding Usage
We have not received any Loans or grants to this point. With 25000 It will help me pay off my trailer on what I owe (9000) and put the rest into marketing and ads. I will be able to use the funds to also get my trailer and truck wrapped up with my logo. I would like to have more supplies to stand out at marketing events. Right now, we market with bare minimum (Shirts and business cards), we would like to make Mugs, pens, and banners.

Business Plan
I am currently in a network group that has made 500k in referrals last year alone. I plan on attending more events in the near future and making a lot of greater connections. I am also utilizing UTSA training programs for small business, to eventually partner with FEMA to assist families on natural disasters. We would provide cleanups and move the families wherever they need for safety. I started off as just a junk removal company in 12/2021. I left my career where I was making 70k a year to launch what I believed to be something I can grow to leave a legacy to my children's children. My wife was 3 months pregnant, a 4-year-old and a 5-year-old to raise and we just closed on our first home 10/21. My wife and I Sold our Jeep for 13,500 to start our junk removal business. I had a prayer, a chevy 1500 and a landscape trailer to start. I was able to slowly build great rapport with networks and community members and grow my business more. All my growth has been from hard work, lessons from when I lost, and integrity. I now have a bigger Truck and trailer and even a box truck with no investor help. However, it is getting expensive in this economy. Diesel is high and so are materials and it's to the point me and my wife have to rent out our home and move in with family to make ends meet. I am fully invested in this and will not give up. I know how big of an industry this is, I just need funds to market more. People need to move, and people need movers.

Self Identified Competition
2 men and a Truck, College Hunks, 1800-GotJunk We are small business yes; however, we understand times are hard for people in this economy right now. We offer discounts to first responders and veterans, and don't add on hidden fees upon fees to make it harder for families to pay. The price you get is what you pay, with the same value if not hopefully better than big business while saving hundreds or thousands.
