October Six LLC | Application Preview
October Six LLC is applying for government grants to fund the decor, merchandise, and point-of-sale system for a new brick-and-mortar store. The business aims to establish a strong presence in the community and online, creating a welcoming environment where customers can interact with products firsthand. The goal is to make visiting the store a delightful experience that encourages customers to return and trust the brand for online shopping.
The founder plans to foster community connections by sponsoring local events like school activities, sports, and music programs. They intend to be an active participant in town fairs and events, becoming the go-to place for special gifts and shopping outings.
The founder has already invested $12,000 of personal savings and seeks additional funding to finalize the store’s setup. As a mother and the first female entrepreneur in her family, she is determined, resourceful, and committed to making the business thrive.
While competition exists in the form of a local boutique catering to an older demographic, there is a lack of women-focused boutiques in the area. The founder believes that the presence of multiple distinct stores can enhance the shopping experience, drawing more customers. Inspired by successful initiatives like 'Boutique Crawls' in Nashville, she envisions a collaborative community of shops working together to attract visitors.

Business Plan
In the next years, I want to have a growing business presence in the community, along with an online presence. Having a physical location where people can come in, touch the product, try on the product, and have a great experience will help create more business. The store will have a special feeling of inclusion and comfort for all shoppers. I will help make every shopper feel wanted, welcomed and comfortable. From the decor of the store, the smell, the sounds and lastly, the product, it will be a treat to make a stop at October Six. Then the goal is to build such a relationship and name, that when a customer is in the comfort of their own home, they will still think and trust our store to order online. I will have October Six become a major part of the community. I would like to sponsor school events, sports, music programs, and mom groups. I will work out a way to be part of every fair and event in the town, along with local towns. I hope to be the name people in town think of when they need a special gift, an outfit for an event, or just need a day shopping with their girlfriends. I have already invested my own savings of $12,000 into the store and need a little more to complete the project. I know with a little more help, I can make it perfect to open. I am a mom of a fourth grader and know how fast word of mouth travels with moms. I will be there myself, everyday. If there is something that I don't know, I will figure out a way to learn it. Although, I grew up with a bunch of strong, hard working women, I am the first woman entrepreneur in my family. I grew up with my dad owning a business, my brother, and my husband owns a business. I know the hard work it takes to make one work and I am confident I will do what it takes to make this succeed.

Self Identified Competition
There is one boutique/gift shop in the town. They do fairly well, but they cater to an older demographic. There are not many women boutiques or gift shops in this town. Although, it is good to be one of a few, my hope is that one day there will be many more. I think if there were a bunch of stores, it could help get more people out there shopping. As long as all stores has their own identity, which I believe I do, I believe that they can all work together. For example, in Nashville, they do "Boutique Crawls". A group of girls will get together and go from store to store. The stores work together to create a whole day of experience so that they all can benefit.
