Hometown Glory | Application Preview
Hometown Glory is seeking government grants to support its business plan, which involves transforming a dentist's office into a community-focused coffee shop. The funding request includes $47,000 for a down payment on an SBA loan and $44,400 to cover operating expenses during the first year of growth.
The coffee shop aims to be a gathering space for small businesses and a venue for events, particularly during the fall and winter months, when it plans to host a farmer’s market. By offering affordable options and promoting community engagement, the shop seeks to create a welcoming environment for all residents of the Papillion LaVista area.
Currently, the city lacks local sit-down coffee shops that foster a genuine community feel, with existing options primarily being drive-thru franchises. Hometown Glory's competitive edge lies in its commitment to creating a CoffeeHOME that emphasizes connection, support for local businesses, and inclusivity for people of all ages. The owner’s passion for community development is a driving force behind the vision for the space, positioning it as a unique alternative to existing coffee shop offerings.

Business Plan
I plan to turn a dentist’s office into a coffee shop that is a space for the community to come together in many different ways. I plan to provide a space for small businesses to gather to get more exposure for their businesses. I plan to provide a a space in the fall/winter for the farmer’s market to continue to get revenue. I also plan to have an event room/space for other community events, all at affordable costs to the city of Papillion. The main revenue will be coffee and food products to bring people in but, the other things will be what brings the community together to create a space the community does not currently have. I plan to create a positive environment for all ages and demographics in the Papillion LaVista area. A place where everyone has a need or want to go to/be involved with. The community we live in does not currently have this.

Self Identified Competition
Currently there are no local sit down coffee shops/community hang out spaces in our city. The only ones we have are Starbucks franchises and they will not offer the Hometown/family feel that I plan to have. The other coffee shops in town are drive thru only. I have a passion for people, networking, growing small businesses, our community, our youth and providing a space that can be a positive environment for all and be the catalyst to many other great things in our city. It will not just be a coffee shop.. it will be a CoffeeHOME to all who live in our community.
