S.N.A.P | Application Preview
S.N.A.P. is applying for government grants to secure a building and essential office supplies, allowing them to operate their classes and outreach center effectively. Their goal is to provide a safe space for at-risk youth and the homeless, helping them to rebuild their lives. Over the next five years, S.N.A.P. aims to run daily classes that will foster community improvement and reduce violence.
The organization emphasizes the positive impact that funding would have on the community, advocating for investor support as a means to drive change. Unlike other local nonprofits such as Level UP, which focuses solely on the homeless population, S.N.A.P. aims to serve the entire community, prioritizing at-risk youth.
S.N.A.P. identifies its competitive edge as a black-owned and operated organization rooted in a neglected area of the South Side, where the poverty rate is alarmingly high. The organization seeks to address the lack of resources available to local citizens, particularly given the statistics indicating a low educational attainment for black individuals and a staggering unemployment rate. By filling this gap, S.N.A.P. aspires to create lasting positive change in a community that desperately needs support.

Self Identified Competition
Level UP- also a non for profit but their primary focus is strictly the homeless as we are focused on the entire community, especially at risk youth. We are a black owned and operated organization out of the south side of the area where little to no attention is given. The poverty level in this area is lower than any other area in the community. The citizens in the area have little to no recourses, which is where we will come into play. According to the goverment, the county is made up only 12.67% African American as the poverty level is 37.96%. Higher education levels for black men and women in the area is less than 20% which is significantly lower than any other race. The unemployment rate for this specific area is over 60%!
