Smoky Meadows BBQ 92-0450867 | Government Grant Application

Smoky Meadows BBQ | Application Preview

Smoky Meadows BBQ is seeking government grants to support the startup of their food trailer business. The initial funding will primarily be allocated for purchasing a food trailer, essential equipment, and initial food supplies to kick off operations.

The business has an ambitious growth plan for the next five years, with aspirations to hire staff, acquire more food trailers or trucks, and eventually establish a brick-and-mortar location to enhance the community experience.

The grant will help address a gap in the local market by providing delicious barbecue options that are currently unavailable in the county and nearby areas. Smoky Meadows BBQ aims to collaborate with local churches and schools, focusing on serving underserved populations.

In terms of competition, their nearest rival barbecue restaurant is located 25-30 miles away, with the belief that their offerings will stand out in flavor. Other competitors include a single local food truck that offers different cuisine and a larger company that dominates the regional food industry.

Smoky Meadows BBQ's competitive edge lies in its local roots and commitment to customer service, positioning itself not just as a business but as a community-oriented venture focused on building relationships.

The initial moneys would be used to purchase the food trailer that will be used in the daily function of the business. It will also be used to purchase necessary equipment, food and supplies in order for us to start our business.

  • Business Plan

We are anticipating substantial growth over the next 5 years. We anticipate being able to hire individuals for the day to day of the business, possibly purchasing additional food trailers/trucks and eventually being able to invest in an brick and mortar business to be able to provide a unique experience to our community. We are looking to serve our community delicious food that is not currently available in our county and surrounding areas. We look to work with local churches and schools to provide services to the underserved as well.

  • Self Identified Competition

Our top competitors would be the closest barbecue restaurant, which is about 25-30 miles away. While they serve good food, I feel that our offerings are superior in flavor. Another competitor would be another local food truck, which is currently the only one registered in our county. They serve a different type of food that will be of good quality. The last competitor is a larger company that has monopolized the food industry in our area and we are looking to provide additional options. The closest barbecue restaurant is about 25-30 miles away. While their food is good, I believe that our products will be superior in flavor. I am from this county, spending the majority of my youth in the area. The other local business individuals are more set on the monetary aspect and not the customer service. I am not looking to just build a business, I am looking to build relationships and community.
