CDI Fitness 46-1132440 | Government Grant Application

CDI Fitness | Application Preview

CDI Fitness is seeking government grants to address financial challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The funding will be used to cover back rent and taxes, as well as to enhance the gym facilities, including the addition of a shower.

The business plan focuses on improving the website and boosting social media engagement, along with hosting more seminars and developing programs for kids, running, and nutrition to better serve members and the community.

The justification for funding approval highlights the significant impact of the pandemic on gyms, revealing that many were forced to close. After ten years in business, CDI Fitness remains viable but has faced many hardships due to the pandemic, including a three-month closure mandated by the governor and ongoing expenses despite reduced membership. However, loyal members supported the gym during these tough times, valuing the outlet for health and fitness it provides.

In terms of competition, CDI Fitness competes with larger gyms that have greater financial resources, such as Gold's Gym and Crunch Fitness, which cater to different demographics. Local competition includes only a couple of other CrossFit gyms, which have also struggled during the pandemic.

CDI Fitness maintains a competitive edge through its focus on mechanics, consistency, and intensity in workouts, ensuring that members minimize injury risks while achieving their fitness goals. This commitment to proper technique and tailored programming sets the gym apart from its competitors.

  • Business Plan

My first priority is to update my website and increase my social media presence. I am currently planning more seminars and working on creating more programs (kids, running, nutrition) to provide more eduction to my members and the community. I would also like to continue to update the gym by adding a shower. Covid has hit many gyms extremely hard and caused them a lot of them to close. I am in my 10th year of ownership and still have a sustainable business, but am not without my covid wounds. I was required by the governor to close my doors for over 3 months.. He imposed restrictions on how I could operate. Yet I still had to pay all my expenses. Many members left for good, but most stuck with me and allowed me to get through those tough times. They came to me because I gave them, and still do give them, an outlet to be in the best shape they can possibly be in. I want to continue to help them and others live a healthy life.

  • Self Identified Competition

My main competitors are large gyms with large financial backing. Golds and Crunch Fitness is just a bigger. Golds is now closed and operates as PA Fitness. Both offer a different service to people that would generally not be my cliental. There are only 2 other Crossfit gyms, because the others closed during covid. Those are on the other side of town and don't offer the service I provide. Mechanics, consistency, and then intensity. It's hard to get healthy when you're hurt. We put our emphasis on making sure are members are doing it right so that they reduce their chance of injury and can get in the best shape possible. This combined with the programming helps them succeed.
