Sunny Spring Farm | Application Preview
Sunny Spring Farm is seeking government grants to acquire essential equipment for producing, growing, and processing hay, as well as for processing firewood for sale. The business plan focuses on optimizing soil pH to achieve high-quality hay free from weeds, which is crucial for attracting repeat customers in the livestock industry.
The reason for funding approval highlights the owner’s dedication and skills, along with the potential for success given the lack of local square bales in the vicinity, where there is a high demand from horse farms and training facilities. Currently, most square bales are imported from Pennsylvania, indicating a market opportunity.
In terms of competition, existing local businesses benefit from advanced hay equipment that enhances efficiency in gathering and storing bales. Sunny Spring Farm aims to differentiate itself by offering locally sourced hay at a lower cost, thus providing savings to customers while meeting the needs of the local equestrian community.

Business Plan
Having soils to proper ph and working with Coops to get best quality hay with no weeds. This will ensure customers will come back for hay, for livestock. I work hard, very driven, and have the property and customer skills to make this happen. This area has no square bales for sale but a large amount of horse farms, training facilities. Most square bales are shipped in from Pennsylvania to Va.

Self Identified Competition
They all have the latest and greatest in hay equipment. They can use machines instead of people to get bales of of fields and stack in barns. They also have storage means. I such they use accumulators, grapples and wrappers to pick up square bales and store. Im in a area where they are not. I could save customers money by having hay local instead of having it shipped in from out of state.
