French Quarter Bistro 85-2168375 | Government Grant Application

French Quarter Bistro | Application Preview

French Quarter Bistro is seeking government grants to support their growth amidst challenges posed by Covid-19 and inflation. The funding would be used to secure a larger location to accommodate more guests, as the current space leads to extended wait times, especially on weekends. The business has not been able to save for this expansion due to these unforeseen difficulties.

Their business plan includes not only moving to a bigger venue but also adding a patio for outdoor dining, which they believe will significantly boost sales. They are currently building their brand independently, attracting around 80,000 monthly views on Google, and plan to enhance their marketing efforts through various channels like highway signs and social media.

The owners are confident in their product and have proven their ability to operate successfully without outside investment, making them believe that additional support could amplify their progress. They highlight their focus on community engagement as their competitive edge, aiming to build relationships and trust by inviting locals to experience their food firsthand. Unlike larger competitors such as Pappadeaux's, Razoo's, and Dodie's, they emphasize a personal approach, knowing customers’ names and fostering connections within the community, which they view as essential for their success.

  • Funding Usage

Due to Covid-19 and inflation we are dealing with a revamp of pricing and trying to find ways to cut cost that does not take away from the quality of our food. We are needing a bigger location because we lose a lot of business from not having enough seating for guest. We are constantly having to tell people we are at a 40 to an hour wait on the weekends. We know we have the product and we know we have the will and determination but we have not been able to save to get a bigger location due to all of the above unforeseen circumstances.

  • Business Plan

We plan to expand and add a patio to our next location. With a bigger location and the options to dine in or out we will definitely increase our sales and look forward to opening more. We are building a brand right now and we have done it all in our own with no help. We get about 80,000 views on google alone a month. We plan to elevate our marketing ( with highway signs, TikTok, commercials, etc.). The city of Forney is also wanting us to expand and are looking for ways to assist with locating. Before we asked anyone to invest in us, we did it ourselves. We needed to prove to ourselves first that we not only had the product and what it takes to stand out but that we could do it without the help of an outsider. Now that we have proven to ourselves we feel more confident in the fact that we can do it. So why should you help us? Because if we can do what we have done in 1 year alone, just imagine what we could do with the help from others.

  • Self Identified Competition

Pappadeaux's is my number one competitor Razoo's is number two Dodies is number three What makes me different from my competitors is we want to build a family with the cities we enter. We first do that by inviting them in to our home to to dine with us. Most customers are hesitant to try our food. Only because we took on the French Quarter Bistro name and most restaurants do not hold up to the name with there food. Well we challenge everyone to try us because we truly love what we do. Secondly, Knowing someone's name is the first step to making someone feel and know you care. We pride ourselves on building a genuine relationship with the community. Without the community's businesses like us will not succeed.
