Majestic Drapes | Application Preview
Majestic Drapes is seeking government grants to enhance their business operations and expand their market reach. The funding will be used for several key purposes: purchasing a new commercial serger sewing machine, acquiring updated inventory to improve sales, refurbishing existing machines, hiring two additional seamstresses, restocking supplies, and addressing some business debt incurred due to pandemic-related losses.
The business owner plans to move to a larger facility to accommodate more staff and fulfill wholesale orders, capitalizing on the high demand for their products. Majestic Drapes, known as a household name in Florida, aims to extend its reach nationwide.
The application highlights the owner's strong work ethic and integrity, supported by well-known references. With 17 years of successful operation, the business has a solid foundation built from an initial investment that underscores the owner’s commitment to success.
In terms of competition, Majestic Drapes faced minimal rivals until recently. However, online shopping platforms like Amazon, Shein, and Fashion Nova have emerged as formidable competitors, particularly in the plus-size market. The business has a competitive edge by specializing in extended super plus sizes, offering options up to 8X and custom sizes up to 10X. This niche addresses a growing demand in an underserved segment of the market, and the owner possesses substantial expertise and a strong portfolio to support this focus. The requested funding will enable Majestic Drapes to leverage its unique position and better compete in the evolving industry landscape.

Business Plan
I would like to expand to a bigger facility, Hire more seamstress so that I can also supply for other businesses on a wholesale level. I get alot of requests, but am unable to full fill the need. I am a household name in Florida and would like to expend that to Nationwide. I am a hard working woman of great integrity with prestigious well known references. I do not believe in quitting until I succeed at what I set my mind to do. My current business was the result of an investor (Gribble Interior Group of Orlando, FL) taking a chance on me 17 years ago. And I have not dropped the ball yet.

Self Identified Competition
Up until about 5 years ago, I really didn't have much competition. I had the Plus Size Industry on lock. But social media and online shopping has made it difficult to sustain at my current level. Now my top 3 competitors are Amazon, Shein and Fashion Nova. They are killing me when it comes to 1X-3X sizes. The only thing that keeps my company alive is the fact that I do extended Super Plus Sizes up to 8X and custom up to 10X. America has gotten more obese and the competition is ignoring the demand for the larger sizing. I have the expertise and skill set dominate that market. I just need the machines and man power to do it. I have a very impressive resume and portfolio in this genre.
