Kay’s Taylor Made Massage | Application Preview
Kay's Taylor Made Massage is seeking government grants to support the launch of a massage therapy business in a beach town. The funding will enable the establishment of a local presence through various marketing efforts, including advertisements in community newspapers, neighborhood newsletters, and distributing business cards to residents and local business owners. The owner plans to engage with community members and partner with local realtors by offering complimentary services to promote her business among potential clients who own beach houses and prefer in-home visits.
With 20 years of extensive experience in diverse settings like luxury hotels, spas, gyms, and chiropractic offices, the owner believes her knowledge and approach to massage therapy set her apart from competitors such as hotels and fitness centers. Her unique competitive advantage lies in her passion for the craft and the personalized attention she provides to each client. Unlike larger establishments that might offer a one-size-fits-all massage experience, she customizes each session based on the client's specific needs, allowing for more quality time spent on each individual. This tailored approach is expected to foster client loyalty and repeat business.

My goal is to open a small massage business. In the beach town which I recently moved to.

Business Plan
By putting my name in the community by any means necessary. Putting ads in the local newspapers. Neighborhood news letters. Handing out cards to locals and business owners. Joining local organizations, neighborhood groups. To get to know my neighbors. To let them know about me and my business. Also to put my name out the with the local realtors. Offering them free services to let their clients know about me. Lots of people own beach houses here. Who prefer in home visits. For my 20 year experience and knowledge of massage. I have worked in just about every venue for massage. From Luxury Hotels and Spas. To Gyms, Fitness Centers, neighborhood Mom and Pop Spas. As well as Chiropractors. Also for myself.

Self Identified Competition
My top competitors would be Hotels, Spas, possible Fitness Centers. What makes me different is. I have been in this profession for 20 years. It has never felt like a job to me. I love what I do. I cater each massage to my client. You cannot give every client the same massage. Some clients need more attention than others. Depending on what the issue is. Having my own business I can make my own time schedule. So I can spend more time with clients when needed. Not giving those assembly line type massages given at hotels. Due to lack of time. This is what keep clients coming back.
