La Bonita Bakery LLC | Application Preview
La Bonita Bakery LLC is seeking government grants for various purposes, including employee compensation, bill payments, supplies, and business expansion. The owner plans to enhance the bakery by increasing seating both indoors and outdoors, as well as diversifying the menu.
Since its establishment in 2012, the bakery has evolved from a small operation selling Mexican sweet bread to a takeout restaurant with a convenience store. The owner started with a $4,000 SBA loan and has significantly grown the business. The goal is to create a sit-in restaurant experience and add an outdoor seating area.
Currently, La Bonita Bakery is the sole Mexican sweet bread bakery in Grant County, facing competition mainly from larger convenience stores like Walmart and Albertsons. The bakery's competitive advantage lies in its status as a small business, fostering personal relationships with customers and ensuring that all food is made in-house with care. This commitment to quality and customer service sets La Bonita Bakery apart from larger corporations.

Business Plan
I plan to grow my business by expanding the store. Create more indoor seating and outdoor seating area. Providing my customers with a more menu variety. I am a Hispanic women that been in business since 2012. I started my business with a $4,000 business SBA loan. At the time I only had 2 little displays for Mexican sweet bread. Over the years I have expanded from 2 little displays to a take out restaurant. And have added a small convenience store. I would like to expand to a sit in restaurant and also have an outside sitting area.

Self Identified Competition
Currently, I am the only Mexican sweet bread bakery in Grant County. Where I have more competition is with the convenient store. My competitors are Walmart, Albertsons, and the Snappy stores. What makes me different is that I’m simply a small business. I’m not a big corporation. My customers and I have a more personal relationship. Being from a small town, the relationship and customer service goes along way. They know ALL of my food is made from my store, other than the retail supplies. I make all my bread and food with love, and my customers can taste the difference.
