Outwit Games LLC | Application Preview
Outwit Games LLC is seeking government grants to support the development of character models for their tabletop game and fund a companion app. The requested funds will also cover shipping and packaging costs, allowing the business to present a finished product more quickly to potential customers.
The business plan outlines a two-year timeline focused on product development and raising awareness through various channels, including attending conventions, collaborating with YouTubers, and enhancing their social media presence. By the third year, Outwit Games hopes to start selling their product while continuing to engage with customers through feedback and polls. Their aim is to build a loyal community, resulting in a successful business model. By year four, they plan to expand their team to improve shipping and manufacturing efficiency while maintaining responsiveness to customer input.
The grant is justified as the game will function as a live service, regularly updating content and fostering a strong customer community. Outwit Games believes this engagement will build customer loyalty, which is vital for business success.
In terms of competition, Outwit Games identifies three major players: Games Workshop Group PLC, known for high-quality models but expensive pricing; NECA/WizKids LLC, which offers lower-priced models but lacks a personal touch; and Wizards of the Coast LLC, recognized for their card games with high competitive costs.
Outwit Games' competitive edge lies in their partnership with ANVL, which brings experienced talent from Games Workshop, ensuring high-quality miniatures at a competitive price point of $22, significantly lower than rivals. Additionally, the free companion app enhances customer interaction and feedback collection. The game itself features unique gameplay elements, encouraging strategic combinations and providing a fresh experience with each playthrough. This distinctive approach, combined with compelling character designs, positions Outwit Games favorably in the market.

Business Plan
For the next one to two years the plan is to develop the product itself while raising awareness for it. I plan to raise awareness by attending cons/expos, giving kits to appropriate Youtubers to show my target audience, as well as create a social media presence via Instagram and Twitter. I plan to get my website up and ready to sell my product as well. By year three I expect to be selling my product while still raising awareness by taking my product to various stores holding playing events. In the meantime I will be sure to show my customers I am listening to their feedback while showing them new content as well as taking polls on what they want regarding new product. This will help me maintain the consumer base I will be building and I will continue these practices. Hopefully by year four I have hired on some individuals to expedite the process of shipping and manufacturing, as well as get more creative minds on my team to keep my product fresh. As my player base rises I will also hire on a team to look at player feedback and suggestions and not only respond with a word of understanding and thanks but they will consolidate the opinions and take them to me so me and the creative team can help tackle these problems. The finished product will be sold in the form of packages containing sets of models that customers will need to buy to play the game. This tabletop game will act as a live service and will be pushing content out regularly to keep consumers engaged. The plan is to engage with my customers taking feedback and suggestions and try to build a loyal community through communication and showing my customers I don't just value them as a consumer but value them as a member of my community. A loyal customer base means a successful business.

Self Identified Competition
Games Workshop Group PLC- Renowned for high model quality with an old engrained community, however they are also known to charge exorbitant prices for their products and having an outdated business model. NECA/WizKids LLC- Offer cheaper models and a large variety of products, however this company is focused on bringing in new customers and losing older customers as a result. Products often have a generic feel. Wizards of the Coast LLC- Primarily known for selling Magic the Gathering, a well known and one of the most widespread and well known card games in the world. Very expensive to play the game competitively with the customer not always getting what they desire, however this leads to higher spending rates. First and foremost an issue often brought up when talking about miniatures is quality to price. I have partnered with a company in ANVL who specializes and makes miniatures. The lead art director on their team was the head designer at Games Workshop for 12 years and is now directly responsible for the production of the miniatures for my game pieces ensuring nothing but the highest quality. The cost to make five models plus shipping and packaging costs roughly seven dollars with my selling price being at 22$. Compared to competitors price ranging from 35$ to 50$. On top of this my product will offer a free companion app to not only offer updates to the game to perform quality of life changes but will also have an option to submit suggestions and feedback with a live individual on the other end responding and taking notes to present to myself. This enables the customer to see that I care about the community and will help build a loyal fanbase. Next up is individuality, how is my game different from others? My game offers an in game economy where a player not only has to balance strategy but what "specials" characters use meaning there are various combinations a player can perform not only in movement and attacking but taking risks using their in game resources to try and best their opponent. This inspires the player to try different character combinations and even different approaches to a situation with the same character. Offering a different gameplay experience every time. This combined with the games own story and unique characters with stunning 3d models to represent them will set my product apart.
