Walterwerks Ltd | Application Preview
Walterwerks Ltd. is seeking government grants to enhance the workshop's operations by upgrading equipment and acquiring storage space. The funds will also support bookkeeping, tax, and labor costs, shifting away from the owner managing these tasks personally after 20 years of running a contracting business.
The business plan focuses on marketing the company's creative capabilities through social media and selling smaller to medium-sized furniture in local stores. Future plans include hiring apprentices to assist in production.
Walterwerks has a proven track record in the contracting industry, demonstrating a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality. With over 23 years in the trades, the owner is ready to shift from contracting to a more fulfilling creative endeavor. The business has a competitive advantage due to the owner’s unique skills in tree removal and woodwork, which few others possess.

Funding Usage
I will use this money to further establish my workshop by upgrading the equipment I have and freeing up some space limitations by paying for some storage space. I will also use the money to help with bookkeeping, tax and labor costs. I have performed many of these tasks myself over the past 20 years running a contracting business but I am not doing that anymore.

Business Plan
I will use some of the money to market my capabilities and creative work through various social media outlets, through selling smaller to medium sized work (furniture, tables, chairs, etc. in local stores, etc.) I will ultimately hire labor/apprentices to aid me in creating this work. I have a proven track record of running my own contracting business and have both performed the work, been licensed and bonded and have run the business without much help on the administrative side. I am a very hard worker and believe in creating quality work. I have a long list of satisfied customers who would attest to this. I am at the place though of being worn out and tired of being a contractor (been in the trades for 23 years) and want to redirect my ideas and efforts towards something that will be more fulfilling.

Self Identified Competition
There aren't many people who can do what I do. I have a specialized niche of being a person who is physically able to climb and take down trees (@ 56 years old), have them rough sawn and then dry the wood and ultimately make furniture and other works from it. Please read the previous answer.
