McKnight Educational Consulting for College Admissions (MECCA) seeks government grants to support its educational initiatives. They project total costs and expenses for the upcoming school year to be $1,126,800, covering both setup and operating costs.

The planned expenses include $126,800 for technology upgrades such as a mobile app, application tracking software, educational resources, and office equipment. The larger allocation of $1,000,000 will go toward operating costs, including salaries for staff, marketing, development of educational programs, and other related expenses. Notable allocations include funding for independent educational consultants, college entrance exam coaching, and health and wellness coaches.

MECCA aims to expand its reach by launching a mobile app and enhancing its presence on various social media platforms. They plan to engage with the community through advertising, partnerships with organizations, and by offering free resources. Their mission focuses on assisting students and parents in achieving educational and career goals while addressing achievement gaps in Arizona’s educational system.

The organization positions itself as a comprehensive resource for college admissions with various offerings, including workshops, podcasts, and educational guides. MECCA distinguishes itself from competitors by leveraging Sandra McKnight’s experience as an independent consultant and educator, aiming to provide tailored support to families navigating the college admissions process.

Ultimately, MECCA’s goal aligns with the Achieve60AZ initiative, advocating for increased post-secondary degree attainment in Arizona.

  • Business Plan

I plan to grow my business by creating a Mobile App in order to provide greater reach into the community. Building an audience on social media (Tik Tok, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and others). I plan to advertise using launch events, billboards, movie theater advertising, word of mouth in the community, churches, schools and students. I plan to partner with community organizations to help promote my brand. I plan to apply for grants when they become available. I plan to develop more programming for middle school students and parents as well as at-risk students and incarcerated individuals. Overall, I plan to grow my business by being more inclusive and offering many free resources to those who need them the most. MECCA assist students and parents with their educational and professional goals and help them navigate their post-secondary transition as well as what they want to do with their lives after college by providing the appropriate resources, tools, information, and options. MECCA is a one-stop shop (hub) for all your college admissions products and services. We offer a series of workshops, free resources, timely tips each week, Podcasts/Videocasts, Tik Tok Videos, YouTube Videos, Educational Blog Feed, a MECCA Playbook/Guide for students and parents serious about college-readiness activities and more. At MECCA, we realize that Arizona ranks low on the Totem Pole for performance in higher education as well as primary and secondary schooling and pre-K education, and we want our business and resources to closely align with the set of attainment goals of Achieve60AZ for our post-secondary system. The goal is to have 60 percent of Arizona’s working-age adults hold a postsecondary degree or certificate by 2030.
