trEATs | Application Preview
trEATs is seeking government grants to establish a baking business focused on three select baked goods, emphasizing small batch production to ensure quality and freshness. Over the next five years, the business aims to sell at farmers' markets and food trucks, as well as through small gift shops along New England's coastline.
The founders, Danielle and her sister, have a background in education and have garnered positive feedback on their family recipe from colleagues and friends. Motivated by this encouragement and the changes in the education landscape post-pandemic, they are committed to pursuing their baking aspirations. Their plan includes sourcing quality ingredients from local farms to enhance their products.
The competition consists of larger bakeries and corporate entities, but trEATs stands out by offering homemade-quality baked goods in limited batches. They are dedicated to sharing their family recipe, which has been cherished for years, while also serving as role models for their students by following their dreams despite challenges.

Business Plan
In the next five years, Danielle and I are hoping that we will be selling among the farmer's markets and food trucks. We also hope it will be in several more small gift shops among vacation sites throughout New England's coastline. My sister and I have been baking for several years. We are both in the education field and have shared our family recipe among our colleagues, friends and fellow administrators. Due to the amount of positive feedback from all and how education has changed dramatically since the pandemic we decided to move forward with our dream of baking. We also only use quality ingredients resulting in only making small batches at a time. We would love to use a local farm or a farm(s) to retrieve some of our ingredients such as eggs, milk, etc.

Self Identified Competition
Our competitors are major bakeries, in-store bakeries and corporations. Our idea is different from our competitors because we are limiting our batches to only provide fresh, taste like homemade goodies! Plus, we are using our family recipe that has been within the family for years! We added a "little" change but still continue to keep the craving for another serving. My sister and I have always taught our students to follow our dreams and passions among any and all obstacles and this would be such a great example for our student's to see and hear about!!!
