Maloneys irish pub | Application Preview
Maloney's Irish Pub is applying for government grants to help stabilize their business after facing initial opening expenses. They own a location on the 100 block, which has struggled with a negative reputation due to high turnover of bars. The funds would be used to cover essential costs like rent, utilities, and wages, and to support plans for opening a kitchen.
The pub’s business strategy includes comprehensive advertising through various channels, including social media and traditional media, with ambitions to transform Maloney's into a music venue that attracts popular acts to the Council Bluffs region.
Approval of the funding is justified by the pub's existing presence in Omaha and the challenges of being women-owned, which has not hindered their growth. They have worked diligently to establish Maloney's as a central spot for St. Patrick's celebrations in Omaha and hope to replicate that success in the new location.
Despite the presence of competitors in the area, Maloney's aims to stand out by being the first Irish pub on the 100 block, which they believe gives them a significant competitive advantage.

Funding Usage
This is to get us on our feet after dealing with the opening expenses. The location we own on the 100 block has had a bad reputation due to many different bars coming in and out. We are hopfully here to stay but it has been a slow going process. We would use this money to help cover rent, utilities, and wages. We also have high hope to open a kitchen as well.

Business Plan
We plan to do everything that we can. We currently use all forms of advertising, social media, tv, radio and word of mouth. We plan to turn Maloney's into a music venue and hopefully bring some popular acts to the Council Bluffs area. We have a location in Omaha as well as the new one on the 100 block. Being women owned has been a challenge but not one that has stopped us from growing into a successful business. We have worked so hard to make Maloney's the St. Paddys headquarters in Omaha and hoping to bring that across the river.
-
Self Identified Competition
Being on the 100 block we have plenty of competitors. Bringing an Irish Pub to the 100 block is a huge thing because there are none.
