Appy Veterans | Application Preview
Appy Veterans is seeking government grants to establish a horse ranch focused on providing therapeutic services for veterans, first responders, and children with special needs. The funding will be used for crucial startup costs including safe shelters for horses, fencing, kid-friendly horses, a wash rack, and equipment such as a tractor to manage the ranch effectively.
The business plans to leverage social media platforms like Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram for marketing, capitalizing on the founder's significant social media following to create awareness. They aim to establish an online presence, distribute business cards strategically, and participate in local events to attract attention and build a community network, including connections with military organizations.
The founder has a personal connection to the mission, having experienced the therapeutic benefits of horses firsthand. As a single parent, full-time college student, Navy reservist, and part-time worker, they are driven to create a supportive environment for those facing challenges like PTSD, anxiety, and trauma. The ranch will focus on the Appaloosa breed, known for their friendly dispositions, making them ideal for therapeutic interactions.
While there is competition from other horse barns in the area, Appy Veterans stands out due to its military focus and unique offering of solely Appaloosa horses. The founder's background in law enforcement, customer service, and connections to behavioral therapy provides a solid foundation for running this inclusive and disciplined environment. With a commitment to community engagement and charity events, Appy Veterans aims to create a nurturing space for individuals seeking equine therapy.

Business Plan
Marketing will be initiated by social media using Facebook advertising, TikTok, and Instagram awareness. As a person aware of social media advantages, my personal Instagram account has over 16,000 followers, due to my ability to provide continuous content of interest to a specific audience. With this strategy, I can continue with this business and use my original following to help launch my network. Set up the business on google. Produce business cards and leave them at as many local stores as possible with potential targeted audiences such as equine shops, the military ran businesses, restaurants, and anywhere else that will attract audiences. Additionally, there are many local events in which people can purchase spots where I can display my business and what it is aimed to accomplish within the community or even abroad the community such as my military connections including advertising with MacDill Airforce Base. I am an active passionate person in both law enforcement and horses. I understand firsthand the therapeutic effects horses have on us individuals who have gone through a lot. Not just in our careers, but in life. I am a single parent, enrolled full-time in college, a Navy reservist, and work at Longhorn part-time as I strive to assemble this heart and grit-driven horse ranch. Ever since I was honorable discharged from active duty in 2017 I applied to be in law enforcement many times and for different reasons, I have not been in a position to be hired yet. I believe God has put this fire in my heart to execute this plan for a reason, to be a warrior for other warriors. Our mission is to be a place for veterans, first responders, children with special needs, and anyone else seeking equine love to retreat to and enjoy services with the native Appaloosa breed of horses. Individuals suffering from PTSD, depression, anxiety, civilian life transitioning, at-risk juveniles and youth, recovery from addiction, grief, trauma, and more can benefit dramatically through interactions with horses. We will organize plenty of activities to continuously remain occupied and entertained with our Appaloosa horses. Why Appaloosas? These native horses, famously known for their unique spots are known to have spunky characters and create deep bonds with people, and are agile in all environments. Perfect for people of all purposes using our horse family as they will not feel alone. Appy Veterans will love to participate in charity events in any way possible to support the community and aid in raising awareness for all the organizations seeking support.

Self Identified Competition
There are many horse barns around although none are military owned, operated, and themed like mine. Additionally, mine will be exclusively flashy Appaloosa horses making us noticeably unique from other businesses and well-rounded in that I relate to the veterans and my mother is a registered behavior therapist and LPN providing excellent certifications to run this program. Additionally, I have been in customer service since I was 15 (now I am 29), understanding that premier customer service is a priority. Our location is in a heavily equine populated area has its pros and cons. Con because there is a lot of competition. Pro, because there is a large audience seeking these services. Their strength is their already established facilities already in operation to intake consumers. On the other hand, their weakness leading to a strength of mine will be the uniqueness Appy Veterans will provide. A flashy exclusive Appaloosa horse ranch with a military theme ran by a Navy Veteran who knows first-hand how to conduct a disciplined, pleasant, motivated, drama-free “work” place and safe zone.
