Funding Usage
For exposure and repeat business from sales, I will launch an aggressive advertising plan. I can increase production with the addition of expanded storage at our business and home rental payments for surplus pieces, band saw, lathe, chain saw, compressor, finish guns, and a generator. This would increase productivity and quality. I am a craftsman with forty years of building experience and must feel productive to have a quality of life. Contributing to the economic health of our area has always been a source of pride for me. I am proud to say that I have no debt and try to live within my means, but as you can see by my earnings that is going to be impossible if I don't grow my business.

Business Plan
Aggressive advertising, outdoor markets during peak tourist seasons, consignment stores, word of mouth from satisfied customers, single donations to high exposure situations that could result in sales, such as a child rocker donated to a daycare. Within 5 years I plan on growing my business into a brick-and-mortar for walk-in shopping. In the Flathead Valley where I live, the tourist season is almost year-round and locals also love the handmade pride and ethics. Throughout the growth process, I will set up an Amazon shop and add online sales once I build up a backlog of merchandise. This grant could really get this off the ground. I am disabled but receive no disability check. I have 40 years of building experience and have spent my life as a productive member of society. I'm determined to stay productive and contribute to economic health by working rather than relying on the generosity of the state for welfare. I love the building industry and have created my own patterns for unique children's furniture and I'm adding new ideas such as end tables, outdoor games, slab headboards, picnic tables with rustic edging, and more. This is an exciting and practical venture and I just need a boost so I can become self-sustaining.

Self Identified Competition
The thing that makes my business a good bet is that I create my own patterns and the customized merchandise isn't marketed by anyone else. Attention to detail, aesthetics and hardy construction makes these pieces fit for generations. As I said in the 'Tell us about your top 3 competitors' section: The thing that makes my business a good bet is that I create my own patterns and the customized merchandise isn't marketed by anyone else. Attention to detail, aesthetics and hardy construction makes these pieces fit for generations.
