The Hands On Physio 7685837 | Government Grant Application

The Hands On Physio | Application Preview

The Hands On Physio is applying for government grants to establish a mobile clinic, which will enhance accessibility for patients who prefer receiving treatment in their homes. The funds, totaling around $75,000, will be allocated for purchasing and renovating a Dodge Promaster van into a fully equipped clinic, acquiring medical supplies like treatment tables and exercise equipment, and supporting continuing education to advance skills in the field.

The business has seen remarkable growth, with an 86% increase in revenue within the first three months, primarily through grassroots marketing efforts targeting local medical and fitness communities. Plans for expansion include reaching neighboring areas, hiring a marketing coordinator, and eventually adding more physical therapists and mobile clinics within 1-2 years. A five-year vision involves expanding to additional cities.

Approval of funding is justified by the growing need for physical therapy as a first-line treatment for pain management. With the shift towards mobile healthcare, which is projected to be a $250.50 billion market by 2026, investing in The Hands On Physio aligns with trends promoting personalized care and cost reduction in healthcare. The owner’s background as a Clinical Director in a successful practice provides confidence in the business's potential for growth and patient care improvement.

The Hands On Physio faces competition from established physical therapy clinics but holds a unique advantage by offering mobile services. This approach caters to individuals, particularly women with challenges related to childcare and mobility, ensuring personalized, one-on-one care that traditional clinics, often handling multiple patients at once, cannot provide. The strategy not only addresses patient needs but also capitalizes on a market underserved by competitors, particularly in the Leavenworth area.

  • Funding Usage

I am needing a professional space for my business. My goal is to create a mobile clinic so I can perform treat patients in their home if they choose. I am wanting to purchase a Dodge Promaster van and renovate it to become a clinic on the inside. This is roughly $75,000. I would also use this money for any supplies I need; treatment table, medical supplies, exercise equipment. I am also wanting to use funds for continuing education so I can expand my knowledge and expertise in the field.

  • Business Plan

I have already had great success with my business through grassroot marketing of local medical providers, holistic providers and community members. I speak to women's exercise groups, mom's groups and other fitness establishments such as Crossfit in the local Leavenworth community. Within the first 3 months of my business, I grew by 86% in revenue. I plan to expand my market and reach out to neighboring communities as well and expect to continue with success. I also plan to hire a marketing coordinator to improve outreach to build caseload clientele. Within 1-2 years I plan to be financially stable to hire two more Physical Therapist's. With two more therapist's I would be able to get two more mobile clinics and reach even more patient's who need care. Within 5 years, I plan to expand my business to neighboring cities. Physical therapists are now required to obtain their doctorate degree so we can perform direct access treatment for patients with pain. We are trained as musculoskeletal experts to differentiate whether or not a persons condition can be treated with physical exercise, or if they need further examination from another provider. We are trained to know what type of specialist or provider to refer patients to if it is outside of our scope of practice. Being the frontline providers for people with pain can significantly reduce healthcare costs across the board; reduced opiod prescription and dependence, less money spent on imaging and avoidance of surgery. Quality physical therapy with one on one treatment, instead of multiple patients at the same time is the future. Mobile healthcare services are also the future. The mobile healthcare market share is expected to grow to $250.50 billion in 2026 at a CAGR of 31.53%. Investing in a private medical company like, The Hands On Physio, is only expected to grow. Before branching off to open my own practice, I was Clinical Director of a private practice that started with 5 clinics and grew to 15 clinics and counting within 3 years. I had the privilege of learning how a business operates and grows, on top of being a medical provider. Investing in mobile medicine is a step in the right direction at transforming the healthcare industry and providing patients with better care and attention.

  • Self Identified Competition

    1. Preferred Physical Therapy-Lansing, KS. Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapy clinic. 2. Encore Therapy & Performance-Overland Park, KS. Outpatient Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy. 3. Femme Focus PT, LLC- Overland Park, KS. Outpatient Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy. None of my competitors offer mobile services. I am able to market my services to women who find it hard to leave their home, i.e. postpartum women, families who cannot find/afford childcare, ease and comfort of treatment in ones own environment. Mobile PT also guarantees one on one care, while most physical therapy clinics treat 2-3 patients at the same time. This style of care does not allow proper time for manual therapy, proper exercise correction and patient education. One on one care is proven to aid in faster progress and recovery in patients. My business is currently located within city limits of Leavenworth, KS. Overland Park is over 45 minutes away from Leavenworth and majority of the patients I currently treat have not sought out pelvic floor physical therapy due to travel distance. Preferred Physical Therapy in Lansing may be more conventiently placed than the other two, however they treat with the style of multiple patients at the same time.
