Mr. B's Kidz 88-2663666 | Government Grant Application

Mr. B's Kidz | Application Preview

Mr. B's Kidz is seeking government grants to enhance their ability to provide vital therapy services for autistic children. The funding will enable the organization to hire full-time staff and initiate behavior and life skills therapy, as well as apply for insurance provider status for reimbursement purposes. This support will expand access to services for families who cannot afford therapy or lack insurance.

Currently, Mr. B's Kidz offers limited services due to funding constraints. As funding increases, they plan to grow their staff and expand services to reach more families. Approval as an insurance provider will create a steady stream of income, allowing the organization to establish a dedicated facility where autistic children can receive care while their parents take time for themselves. These services will be available in two-hour increments, with the potential for a larger facility to accommodate more families and resources in the future.

The organization underscores the urgency of their mission, as autism is a lifelong condition requiring specific behavioral and life skills training to help families engage in community events. By educating both autistic families and the broader community, Mr. B's Kidz aims to improve interactions and understanding.

Mr. B's Kidz faces competition from other non-profits and organizations focused on autism therapies. However, their unique approach emphasizes both behavior treatment and life skills development, addressing a significant gap in existing services. This comprehensive strategy aims to equip autistic individuals with the necessary skills to thrive both at home and in the community.

  • Funding Usage

With this additional funding we will be able to hire full time staff and be able to start conducting behavior and life skills therapy. This funding will also provide us with the necessary funding to start applying to insurance companies to become a provider. This will allow us to get reimbursement from insurance companies. This additional funding will allow us to provide services to those that can not afford it or those that do not have insurance to cover the cost of therapy.

  • Business Plan

Initially, we are providing services on a limited basis due to funding. As funding grows, we will be able to grow our staff, allowing us to expand our services to families and different community events. As we become approved by insurance to become a provider, we will have a steady stream of funding which will allow us to open a facility. This facility will enable us to provide services and a safe place for autistic kids to stay while parents take time out. This will be in 2-hour increments. Eventually, depending on funding and growth, we will like to open a larger facility to service more families and provide a group of therapists and volunteers to families each weekend so that they can attend functions in the community. Autism is a new and complex diagnosis. This diagnosis is not curable and is with the person their entire life. Autism affects the brain, and training the brain how to perform certain behaviors is essential, but you also need to add life skills. Opening the world to autistic families is something new to most organizations. Teaching these life skills will assist the families in being able to enjoy community events. This will also educate the community about the different spectrums of autistic members in their community. We may never understand autism, but we can assist in making their lives and the lives of their families better through community connections.

  • Self Identified Competition

Other non-profits Other autistic-focused organizations There is a gap in the behavior treatment plans for autistic diagnosis. During the therapy training, the focus is on behaviors and correcting those, not life skills and how to act in the community. These two skill categories are essential in allowing the autistic community to interact with the rest of the community. Other organizations work on behavior therapy and do not work on life skills. To create a healthy, well-rounded individual, you need both behavior and skills, which makes us different. Working to provide life skills, we will be able to work with the families to get them into the community and enjoying life inside their home and out.
