P3 Leadership Solutions 88-3866958 | Government Grant Application

P3 Leadership Solutions | Application Preview

P3 Leadership Solutions is applying for government grants to support the establishment of a Mobile RV Technician and Inspector business. The funding will be used for training and certification at the National RV Training Academy in Athens, TX. The applicant aims to create a steady income source that complements their current work in coaching and leadership development, which is not reliably full-time.

There is a significant demand for mobile RV services, highlighted by the increasing backlog at traditional RV repair shops that struggle to keep up with service requests due to a shortage of technicians. The applicant's personal experience as an RV owner reinforces their understanding of this need, having faced long wait times for service. They plan to promote their business through local campgrounds in San Diego County, a popular destination for RVers.

With over 26 years of service in the U.S. Army, including high-stakes roles and multiple deployments, the applicant emphasizes their dedication to excellence and desire for financial security in retirement. They believe their commitment to quality and excellent customer service will distinguish their business in a market with limited competition, as there are few mobile RV technicians available to meet the growing need. Overall, approval of the funding is seen as a step towards securing a viable future in this promising field.

  • Funding Usage

I want to diversify what I do, and prepare myself for the long term by starting my own Mobile RV Technician and Inspector business. It dovetails nicely with what I do now, in that my coaching and leader development work is not full time and is not predictable. I can enhance my business income as a mobile RV technician and inspector between rotations and workshops, and will set me up for making a living as long as I want to work. The money requested will assist in paying for training and certification as a Certified RV Technician and Inspector at the National RV Training Academy in Athens, TX. There is a tremendous need for this type of business, as brick and mortar RV repair shops are facing declining numbers of technicians and are currently backlogged 2-3 months on service requests, and there are very few mobile RV techs in business.

  • Business Plan

As an RV owner myself, I know first hand the demand for these types of businesses. I just dropped my RV off for service last week, and after having to wait over six weeks for an appointment, the service advisor told me it might be two to three months before my RV gets into the service bay. He told me that demand for RVs has skyrocketed, while the number of qualified service techs has remained stagnant, and even dropped as older techs retire. There is a huge demand for RV service techs, and San Diego is a year round destination for RVers. I know that by simply handing out business cards and flyers around the numerous campgrounds in San Diego County, the business will come to me. I served over 26 years in the United States Army, including 4 combat deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. I served over 10 years in the elite 75th Ranger Regiment and commanded an Infantry battalion in one of the most dangerous areas of Afghanistan. I have been award the Ranger Tab, the Master Parachutist Badge with combat jump star, the Purple Heart, and 5 Bronze Stars. I have given everything to this nation and am now asking for assistance to set myself up for financial security for my senior years. In my entire time in uniform, I always strived for excellence in every position and organization in which I served. I know I can do the same thing here.

  • Self Identified Competition

I really don't look at others who perform this service as competitors. There is more demand than the current environment can handle. In fact, a mobile RV tech I hired to inspect a trailer I was selling encouraged me to look into getting into the business. In addition to him, I could only find one other mobile RV technician in the area, and I've already mentioned how overwhelmed the two brick and mortar RV repair centers are in this area. This is an area ripe for business expansion and growth. I don't want to denigrate others in the business, but do think my standards of excellence in everything I undertake, and my focus on customer service will quickly establish my business as the one to call when repairs or inspections are needed.
