Glo Custom Spray Tanning 842456774 | Government Grant Application

Glo Custom Spray Tanning | Application Preview

Glo Custom Spray Tanning is seeking government grant funding to ease the financial burdens of startup expenses incurred while establishing two salon locations. The owner, who has successfully grown the business since its inception in 2016, aims to pay off approximately $18,000 in business credit card debt, allowing for a stronger start to 2023.

The business plans to expand by opening a third location in Lexington, VA, with job descriptions already drafted and hiring anticipated for February. The owner has managed to grow this UV-free tanning business without taking loans and emphasizes the need for financial support to facilitate further growth and make hiring more feasible.

Glo Custom Spray Tanning has a competitive advantage due to a lack of local competitors and a strong focus on branding and marketing. The business has achieved recognition through awards and community involvement, including sponsoring local sports teams. The owner aims to provide a safe tanning alternative that avoids the risks associated with UV exposure, catering to various events such as competitions and proms. With funding, the owner hopes to stabilize finances to continue expanding and concentrate on business growth.

  • Funding Usage

I would use this funding to pay off some expenses accrued in my start up costs to help me start 2023 on better footing. I didn’t take out any business loans but I do owe about $18,000 in business credit cards due to getting the two salons up and running.

  • Business Plan

I would love to open a third location in Lexington, VA. I have written Job descriptions and plan to hire my Feb so that I can steward the growth my business is experiencing. I started my spray tanning business in my home in 2016. I grew it organically while working a full time job until 2019 when I resigned and decided to pursue this dream full time. I’m a mom of a 3 year old, very active in church and community and this assistance would take a tremendous burden off of me so I could focus on growth and feel more confident in being able to hire/pay help.

  • Self Identified Competition

Fortunately I live in an area where I don’t have a lot of competitors. This is the main reason I wanted to open my first store and now a second to capture the market. I have worked so hard on branding and marketing. Glo has won several awards and sponsors local sports teams, etc to make a difference in the community. I focus solely on UV-free tanning. I am building a brand where people who like to tan for competitions, weddings, Homecomings, Proms, Vacations, etc. can tan without the aging effects and cancer-risks from UV exposure. My business is seeing tremendous growth but I need some help levelsetting some of my start up costs so that I can keep growing and potentially open a third location in 2023 or 2024 without all my profit going to credit card payments.
