Bruiser Outdoors Gear & Apparel | Application Preview
Bruiser Outdoors Gear & Apparel is seeking government grants to enhance its advertising efforts and expand its services. The requested funds will be allocated for various initiatives, including building secure pickup/dropoff boxes, printing promotional materials, purchasing gear for giveaways, covering current operational costs, and increasing online visibility through platforms like Google and Yelp. The business also plans to promote its offerings at climbing gyms in Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, and South Georgia.
The business strategy focuses on strengthening its presence in local gyms across Georgia and neighboring states, participating in vendor events, and maintaining high-quality rental equipment. Plans include diversifying services to incorporate guided tours, climbing classes, and youth programs, alongside collaborations with organizations like the Boy Scouts and WMA for community service initiatives.
The founder's motivation for establishing Bruiser Outdoors stems from a lifelong ambition to create a successful business, inspired by a family legacy of entrepreneurship. Over the past three years, the business has grown significantly, with rental activity surging this year without prior advertising. A strong passion for climbing drives the founder, who has established solid relationships with reputable climbing equipment suppliers.
The application emphasizes the absence of direct competition in the Georgia market, distinguishing Bruiser Outdoors from other local climbing businesses that focus on different disciplines. With a commitment to community engagement and sustainable growth, the founder believes that government support will drive further success and benefit the local climbing community.

Business Plan
Push advertising in local gyms in Georgia as well as surrounding states. Be present for vendor events at the local gyms around Atlanta. Maintain current rental equipment and acquire higher quality gear to rent for a premium. Expand services portfolio to also include guided tours, climbing classes, youth programs, as well as creating volunteering efforts with the Boy Scouts as well as the WMA. We already have permission to perform trail work at any time with the WMA and before covid we started working with the BSA to offer climbing classes. I also would like to hire a few climbers part time to help advertise our products and services, and to teach climbing classes and guide outdoor climbing adventures. I want my company to be a full service bouldering gear company that is a big part of the local community. Since I was in middle school, I have always wanted to own my own business. My mom has never worked for anyone except for her own parents when she was young. She has always inspired me to build something of my own and make it last. I started Bruiser Outdoors with a friend 3 years ago. That friend moved away and gave up on the company but I kept it running. This year has been my best year yet. I rented more pads this year than the first 2 years combined and that is with no advertising. I have a serious passion for climbing (youtube : chonk_zilla official) and I will have this business as long as I can. I have a long standing relationship with MadRock and Tenaya/Trango. They are serious climbing companies that I source my equipment from. You should invest in me because I stand by what I say and I don't give up. I hold real and honest values to heart and have goals that align with the future of climbing. I am serious about being successful and will always give back to the community that fostered my love for climbing.

Self Identified Competition
There are no competitors in the GA market for what I do. Atlanta Rock Climbing Company is owned by a friend of mine but they focus on rope climbing while I focus on bouldering. There are no competitors in the GA market for what I do.
