David Boden Designs is seeking government grant funding to establish a retail storefront in Graham, TX. The plan includes creating a shop with a connected laydown yard and a small residence, enabling David to sell his current home and move his equipment. Key components of the business growth include effective advertising, hiring financial professionals, upgrading metal fabrication tools, and acquiring a CNC machine for improved efficiency and new product offerings.
The business aims to maintain low prices for its products, believing that affordable clothing should be accessible, especially for lower-income families. David emphasizes the importance of providing value, stating that affordable products can stimulate sales and reduce worries associated with clothing costs for families. The business model also incorporates the sale of trailers and power sports, with plans to open a second location near Possum Kingdom Lake.

Funding Usage
The grant funding would be used to open a store front here in Graham TX ideally with a shop connected to or in the back of and a large laydown yard and a small residence for me to live onsite. That way I could sell my house and property and move all of my equipment to the retail site. Upgrade my graphic design software, computers and printing equipment. Adding embroidery equipment and offering embroidery services. Advertising and branding would be a big focus as well as internet domain and website services. Hiring a professional to help with financials and record keeping would take a lot of time burden from me and free me up for more of the creative processes. Upgrading some of my metal fabrication tooling and adding a CNC machine would make my processes a lot more efficient and also open up a new category of made to order metal nick nacs or ornaments that could be added to my catalog of products. Buying some very large wholesale purchases of the materials i would need for all of my processes. Adding some new type of products for my brand from sunglasses and bathing suits to fanny packs and sarape panchos all with my brand logos. One topic worth mentioning is that I would like to continue to keep all of my products very low cost which right now they are much lower than average. If that means I need to keep doing he physical process of making the merchandise while finding the right vendors then I will. I don't think people especially lower income family children should have to worry so much about clothes when there's so much better stuff in life to focus on. Not to mention when people hear 10 dollar hats and shirts and 20 dollar hoodies the sales frenzy begins. It can be hard for a new business to offer those types of prices while trying to pay for all of the initial expenses and ongoing expenses.

Business Plan
Accruing an inventory of trailers and powers sports and becoming a dealer for both which I am already registered with Naics under the appropriate number for. Growing my workforce to cover the retail department and maintain the facilities. Opening a second store on the east side of Possum Kingdom Lake, I am on the west side now and that is where the first retail location will be. One thing I have always wanted to do is design my own clothing instead of putting my logos on other companies clothing so i would look into that process. I don't think kids should have to rush home wednesday after school to do laundry for the rest of the week since they only have 3 outfits like I had to do when I was young. Plus I have the mentality that keeping stuff priced low gets it moving out the door and sales up. Basically selling 100 shirts for 10 dollars beats selling 1 shirt for 100 dollars. My area of operation is called the lake country by local radio stations, tourists and locals a like want to buy "lake gear" and not worry if they drop it off the boat or it sits in the bottom of the kayak with their fishing bait and empty beer cans. I have a brain that never stops thinking of new ways to do things or new things to offer as well variations of existing goods or services. The biggest limitation I run into is time and not having enough of it in a day to do all of things I want to. In that regard I am a very efficient manager of people, inventory and time related tasks. In my previous life i led crews climbing and working on wind turbines with very dangerous mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic hazards all at take your breath away heights. Traveling all over the US and sometimes other countries with our fleet of trucks, tooling and inventory for 12 years. Eventually working my way into no longer having to travel and managing the day to day operations of one single home site wind farm and the crews that maintain it. Even further more moving on to a customer position which is the presence for the company that owns the wind farm and acts with their best interest to influence the operations manager. Also operating maintaining the high voltage substation.
