Dancing For Joy, LLC | Application Preview
Dancing For Joy, LLC is seeking a $40,000 government grant to facilitate their move to a larger studio space. The current facility is too small and, due to an increase in the nearby homeless population, has raised safety concerns for the all-female staff and children. The new space would allow for renovations and enable the business to expand class offerings, particularly for at-risk youth in the community.
The studio has experienced significant growth, with a 24% increase in enrollment over the last six months, now serving 234 active dancers. To support this growth, they have partnered with JC Consults for marketing, which has already resulted in increased visibility, especially on social media platforms like Instagram. Their online reach has expanded dramatically, creating optimism for further growth.
The funding would not only provide more dance classes but also contribute to the holistic development of children in the community. Dance serves as an outlet for self-expression and exercise, benefiting those with various challenges such as ADD. Increased class availability would create a safe after-school environment for children.
Dancing For Joy distinguishes itself from competitors like Victoria's School of Dance and Ruby Dance Center by promoting a Christian foundation centered on positive values such as gratitude and confidence. The studio aims to empower young women and provide a counter-narrative to the trend of objectification in dance, which aligns with their mission to foster confidence and resilience in their students.

Funding Usage
Dancing For Joy would like $40,000 in grant money to assist in moving to a larger studio space. Our current studio is very small and we have outgrown the facility. Also, with the increase in the homeless population around our studio, we have had some situations that were safety concerns for our all female staff and children at our current location. Our hope is to be able to renovate one of the several available properties that we have looked at. This would allow us to expand the number of classes we offer, which would then include more of the at risk youth in our community.

Business Plan
Dancing For Joy has continued to grow through the pandemic and the inflationary period we currently find ourselves in. Just in the last 6 months, our enrollment has increased nearly 24% to our current numbers of 234 active dancers. We have recently formed a marketing partnership with JC Consults, and the work they are doing for us is already seeing huge dividends. Social media presence coupled with positive word of mouth from our more than satisfied dance families has brought us this far, and we will continue to use the Facebook, Instagram, and Tok Tok platforms to further grow over the next 5 years. In the past 30 days on Instagram alone we have reached 391% more accounts; since growth begets growth, we are expecting exponential benefits of our current marketing undertakings. By investing in Dancing For Joy, you are investing in the next generation of children in our community. Dance is not only an extracurricular activity, but is a powerful form of the arts that allows dancers to express themselves freely and in a healthy manner. While dance is a form of needed exercise, especially in our sedentary world, it also provides inspiration, motivation, and an increase in focus for our children who struggle with neurological issues such as ADD. Physically, dance improves flexibility, builds muscle and agility, and helps to create better posture. Mentally and emotionally, dance helps to boost confidence, sharpens cognitive function, and improves sensorimotor performance. With your help, we will be able to provide more classes to allow children to have a safe place to be after school, as we would be able to widen our after school program offerings.
