  • Business Plan

    In order to ensure our continued success, we do not want to overextend ourselves with large loans. However, a small infusion should be easily outweighed by the obvious demand that we've encountered in this short time. Year 0: We currently have large distributer wholesale accounts with 7 important companies to our business. This will ensure that we are purchasing equipment & livestock for the lowest possible investment. We have already established our unique method for livestock propagation that will put us above the competition. We have also already found a starved market in Colorado Springs. While larger facilities exist in the Denver area, there is no such source for local Colorado Springs & surrounding areas consumers. Year 1 we plan to have a facility open that's centrally located and open to the public. The facility should be lightly stocked. We plan to introduce our subscription based products, Aquatic Care Clinic sessions, remote nuisance diagnostic services, and other innovative solutions not currently available in the market. These services combined will make our less informed potential clients feel more at ease with entering this market. This will also help to retain these clients as we are helping them avoid pitfalls that would otherwise cause them to lose interest. Year 2: Our location should be fully stocked with livestock & equipment for sale. Total inventory investment should be at or near $20,000. As the business becomes more liquid we should start exploring SEO/SEM solutions to increase awareness outside of our local area. This is when we will begin our social media campaign. This campaign will consist of free informative videos. The content of the videos will be based on a curriculum developed to educate our enthusiasts while increasing our brand awareness. Year 3: InsideReef LLC will have multiple streams of revenue by this point. We will use funds obtained from our subscription services, livestock sales, dry goods sales, and advertisement revenue from social media platforms (YouTube) to aggressively pay down any outstanding debt incurred during the start-up phase. Year 4: InsideReef LLC will be regularly shipping livestock and dry goods nationwide while still servicing our local Colorado Springs & surrounding residents. We plan to be employing a small staff & reviewing finances to develop a plan to safely expand to a larger facility used solely to increase the diversity of livestock offered. Year 5: Using the knowledge we've obtained from the previous 5 years of doing business we will innovate and develop new, more efficient methods for nutrient import/export, breeding and cross breeding of livestock. By year 5 we hope to develop hyper sustainable methods for propagating livestock. With sustainability in mind we will re-evaluate our infrastructure and manufacturing methods for livestock propagation and plan the changes needed for the following 5 years. For a relatively small investment we will be able to serve a starved market. We foresee all of the different methods in which we would fail, and we are committed to our success. This endeavor on a small scale, is relatively low risk. The inventory does not expire or become obsolete. On a larger scale the more prominent failure point is the lack of innovation. This market has absolutely boomed over the last 3 years, and there will no doubt be more competition entering the market. Our diligence, commitment, and drive will set us apart and not allow us to cease innovating. We have no choice except to succeed. The operating members credit scores are well above average which speaks to our commitment to satisfying obligations as well.

    Locally there are only 2: Reefkoi & Seascape Aquatics. Both are small locations that are entirely self sufficient. They serve all of the Colorado Springs area. In our opinion, they are missing very large revenue streams. Neither make an effort to supply products to potential clients outside of their regular customer base. Neither offer any informative materials to both capture and retain new clients. Neither offer any maintenance services. Both are content with the status quo. While we respect them as small business owners in this market, we think we offer a far superior service that will actually grow the market. Nationally there are many with 1 that stands out: BulkReefSupply - By far the leader in the market. They offer dry goods of all types, incentives for shopping with them including free shipping, informative videos, investigative videos, and they introduce new methodology into the craft. They are a juggernaut, however, they would be a partner instead of a competitor in the near future. They do not offer livestock or maintenance services. They are too large to appeal to enthusiasts first entering the market because aside from their videos online, there isn't any personal educational materials provided unique to any particular client. Instead of competing with BulkReefSupply, we have partnered with them and been granted a wholesale account with which we could buy dry goods at a significant discount. We could then forward some of those savings to our loyal clients. Our unique propagation method combined with our innovative mindset will propel us to success in spite of our competitors. Our local competitors each specialize in a small area of the market. We specialize in every opportunity market provides. We offer a method for a client to enter the market with 0 knowledge. We offer a product that allows your client to learn to be self sufficient, or take the stress out and be reliable on us for continued maintenance services. All in all, we offer a superior product and our market will pay for our superior product. We've already partnered with major national competitors in ways that are mutually beneficial and will help propel our business above and beyond our local competitors.
