Karate Illuminati LLC | Application Preview
Karate Illuminati LLC is seeking government grants to renovate its work area, which includes essential improvements like insulation, walls, doors, lighting, heating, cooling, flooring, and signage. The business plan focuses on building a steady student base before moving to a larger commercial space where passive advertising through signage and location can enhance visibility. To further expand its reach, the company plans to conduct seminars and webinars and create DVD and digital download content.
The funding is sought not only for business growth but also for the significant impact of the services offered. Karate Illuminati LLC emphasizes self-defense training for marginalized groups, including women, girls, BIPOC, and the LGBTQIA+ community, helping them build confidence and safety awareness. The business also preserves a rare martial art form, KishimotoDi, with fewer than 300 practitioners worldwide, which is culturally and historically significant. They offer discounts to military members and veterans, increasing accessibility to their programs.
From a competitive standpoint, Karate Illuminati LLC stands out as the only school in the area that offers practical karate, in contrast to other local schools that focus on competitive aspects. With a strong international reputation in practical karate and a solid social media presence, the business is positioned to grow effectively once renovations are complete, setting it apart from the competition.

Business Plan
I plan to build up a student base in my current space until I have enough reliable students paying to move into a larger commercial space, where I will be able to rely more on passive advertising through signage and proximity to other businesses. I am also expanding my reach with seminars and webinars, and plan to produce several DVD/digital download products. I am teaching people--especially women, girls, BIPOC, and the LGBTQIA+ community--how to defend themselves, which is incredibly important. Additionally, I am preserving cultural practices that are in danger of dying out, even in their originating country. One of the martial arts that I teach has fewer than 300 practitioners worldwide, and less than a dozen instructors, but it is incredibly historically significant. I also provide greater accessibility to our military and veterans by offering them discounts on training. From a business perspective, I am already internationally known as an expert on practical karate, meaning that expanding my seminar/webinar and digital content business already has a wide potential client base. My social media presence is already strong on Facebook and Instagram, and my website has been in place for nearly a decade. I am also starting to build public awareness in my area through social media advertising and mass mail campaigns. This has me set up to begin growing in earnest once my working space is renovated and better able to accommodate my business.

Self Identified Competition
Other karate schools The other karate schools in my area are focused on teaching for competition karate, which is not at all suited to self-defense, despite them advertising otherwise. I am the only practical karate school in the area, and the only school teaching the rare art of KishimotoDi in the entire United States. Additionally, none of the other karate schools in my area have the national and international recognition that I already have.
