TRIN3ITY Inc. | Application Preview
TRIN3ITY Inc. is applying for government grants to support its plans for expanding services to the Department of Defense (DoD) by utilizing specialized vessels. The funding will be allocated for a series of crucial steps including engaging a marine surveyor to survey candidate vessels, negotiating purchase and modification costs, and hiring a marine architect to handle design specifics. The company intends to employ a certified engineer as a project manager to oversee the vessel’s conversion to an operational status, hire local mariners, and secure a mooring location.
The business plan centers on extending military contracts to additional coastal communities such as Moorehead City NC, Jacksonville FL, Pensacola FL, and San Diego CA, with possibilities for overseas expansion. TRIN3ITY plans to collaborate with local railroads for efficient transloading of oversized cargo.
The company argues for funding approval by emphasizing the cost-effective and reliable service it will provide to the DoD, which significantly differs from traditional methods. TRIN3ITY aims to contribute to the local economy by hiring U.S. mariners and investing in maritime support services. As a veteran-owned business, it highlights its commitment to the community and its plan to invest in durable equipment that retains value.
In terms of competition, TRIN3ITY points out that no one else is offering similar services for military contracts or intra-coastal freight transportation. The company’s unique advantage lies in its experience—led by a Navy veteran helicopter pilot and a seasoned local mariner with extensive connections in the maritime industry. This expertise positions TRIN3ITY to successfully meet the needs of the fleet while distinguishing its offerings in the market.

Funding Usage
I have already identified and visited candidate vessels. I will send a marine surveyor to conduct an official survey, I will then negotiate the purchase price along with the price to reclassify (reactivate) the vessel and the price to add the flight deck modification. I will contract with the marine architect who has experience in exactly this design and who I have already spoken to. I will higher a vessel certified engineer to act as my project manager and stay with the vessel from purchase to fully operational. I will begin hiring local mariners. I will choose one of 3 potential local mooring locations and sign a contract to moor the vessel after the work is complete. I will pay business and maritime attorneys for contract reviews and due-diligence. I will pay insurance requirements on the vessel.

Business Plan
I plan to expand the military contract to other coastal military communities (Moorehead City NC, Jacksonville FL, Pensacola FL, and San Diego CA.) Additional overseas locations are also eligible. I plan on partnering with the local railroad where I will moor my vessel to transload "high and wide" cargo. I am providing a much needed service to the government DOD at a significant cost savings to traditional methods. My service will be reliable and easy to use. I am going to employ local US mariners. I am going to pay out money into the local economy for maritime support services. I am going to invest in a durable heavy piece of machinery (a modern OSV or PSV vessel) that will hold its value. I am a veteran owned 100% disabled small business.

Self Identified Competition
Military contract: No one else is doing this! Freight Forwarding: Local tug and barge companies. Most of these vessels are utilized for the energy industry (oil platforms). No one else is using these vessels for intra-coastal freight and no-one has thought to use them for DOD helicopter training. I am a 22year veteran (Navy helicopter pilot) and I know what the fleet needs to succeed. I am partnered with a 30year local professional mariner who has the local maritime connections and expertise in finding quality talent.
